I do not believe that there is any greater benefit than that of ND Scholar. Some people say that, with ND Scholar distinction, the financial aid favors grant over loans and others say that it doesn't matter. I don't think there is any difference between Reilly scholar and ND scholar, though, in terms of aid.

Hi there! I am a sophomore at ND and a Reilly Scholar in the Honors Program. What happens is if you're invited to the Reilly Scholar weekend, you are a Reilly Scholar. The weekend is a recruiting weekend for the top early admissions applicants to the school. It's a great weekend - all funded by a ND alumni Mr. Reilly. Usually a very high rate of students who go on the weekend decide to commit to Notre Dame. Once at the weekend, you will have the opportunity to apply for the Honors Program. If you go on the weekend, you're in. The application is simply a formality. I highly HIGHLY recommend the honors program - it has been amazing for me. You get the top professors in small seminars, so there is definitely a nice benefit.

The Reilly Scholars is status is an identification for students who are eligible for the weekend. But some of my current best friends - including a roommate - came from that weekend. I definitely recommend it!

oh, and to check out the honors program and what it is about, there is a website:

still waiting on my letter for EA
but if I am a Notre Dame Scholar will it say so on my letter? or do they wait until regular decision to decide?
