It says students must be admitted by Nov 1. If I apply this weekend is there any chance that I'll be accepted by then?

Very unlikely, but still a small chance.

That is really stupid. Dammit.

Well, calling a deadline “stupid”, and swearing, is probably not showing yourself as a student who would be likely to be admitted anyway. It’s been listed for some time, and other children got their application completed earlier.

HOWEVER…

I will say that I do think there IS a chance. But you must also get your transcripts sent a.s.a.p. They cannot process your application without your scores/transcripts. So, if your school cannot send those until late in the week, or the week following…that will hurt you. I assume SAT/ACT will send electronically.

But my D was accepted VERY quickly after all paperwork was received. I’ve heard others on here say that their application WAS processed in as little as 2 weeks. BUT…I’m sure IU is MUCH busier right now, as everyone rushes for the Nov 1 deadline to have scholarship priority. You can’t know unless you try. And, if you’re inside Indiana…you get a free application this week (ANOTHER reason they’ll be SWAMPED).

I meant it was really stupid of me. I can see that the way I typed it made it seem like IU is stupid.

iu is in fact stupid

What is stupid is someone that posts negative information about a university unsubstantiated by any facts or examples.

@rrah…take a look at hugalabugala’s other (2) posts. All in IU. All childishly derogatory. I’m guessing IU denied them acceptance (therefore, as oppose to poster’s opinion…actually showing the school’s intense apptitude for applicant selection).
