Nov 3 SAT - VERSION 1: Nature of Brain/Hexagon

awww i thoguht the genome free from body was the interaction between the body and mind

rb, do you remember more of that risen question?
Also, I think there was a question that was like:
“After he played a concert at age 12, Bob has become a virtuoso”
Is the error at after — since?

This mightve been on exp idk

^^ that is exp

wait…can someone explain why kahn’s quote introduced the central dilemna?

just for future reference, whatever.

Echelon, the relevant part was:

it gave “raised steeply over the last 150 years”

but since it was “over the last”, it has to be:
“has risen steeply over the last 150 years”

and concert question was prolly experimental

ahh i remember that, thanks rb - added

About the Descartes question that is under debate:

“Descartes dignified this view by blah blah blah”

Echelon, when you say “added philosophy to”, the actual answer choice was “added credibility to this viewpoint as a philosopher and scientist”. I think this fits well. I dont remember any “he also proposed” phrase and the answer choice that apparently corresponds with that. The Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of dignify as a verb is:

1 : to give distinction to : ENNOBLE
2 : to confer dignity upon; also : to give undue attention or status to <won’t dignify=“” that=“” remark=“” with=“” a=“” reply=“”></won’t>

In this sense, Descartes “dignified” (made well known, made it an “official” or “recognized” viewpoint rather than just popular opinion) the viewpoint. What do you think?

anyone know the answer to the writing question about “analyses of thaw and freeze records for lakes and rivers…” etc.

^^yes Thats What I Put Rb9106 I Remember Now

Do u remember the answer choices / rest of the freeze-thaw sentence Hobbie?

all i remember is “for” sorry and i don’t remember the answer choices

Well, “for” is correct as is; I am pretty sure I marked an error somewhere in the sentence though.

Median age = 54 (the fourth group of 5?)

i thought the answer was the third group??

no its for cause the total is like 235 or something that and when you divide by 2 you get 117.5

the first three groups add to 115 or something while the latter two add to 120
so that number falls in the 54 category

Hobbie, what was the math question with square and triangle that added to 21? I dont remember it at all.

it was a Cartesian graph with a linear line going through it. It gave you points at certain points and asked you to find the area. What you can do is split the area into a triangle and a rectangle and find the area that way. Or you can find the slope and y-intercept and take the integral..hehe

YES! lol, I actually took the integral for fun when I was checking over. It was a trapezoidy thing, right?

The height of the trapezoid was 3, and the 2 bases were like 4 and 10, right?

And I took the integral of 2x+4 from 0 to 3 YAY that was it!

Thank God.

for the blood pressure problem, i put INCREASE, because hypertension was in the problem and it means rising of blood pressure? anyone backup??

no, there was an “although” somewhere in there. Sorry.

I also put increase …
