Does anyone else have a message on their novasis financial aid status that says the following message is based on your status as a "new student Dorm/OC student receiving financial aid for Fall and Spring". It then goes on to say this is based on your academic transcripts and satisfactory academic performance. How can it be based on my child as a new student when we don't know if she is accepted yet? Does this mean she is accepted? To access this message i had to go on "Check financial aid status" and then submit the year 2008-2009.

i also got this message "new student Dorm/OC student receiving financial aid for Fall and Spring" in the financial aid section. but im not sure if it means anything

My son was accepted EA and has this message. Goes on to say tuition is $50,175. Prob more positive then negative meaning...Good Luck

I was going to start a thread late last night when I noticed the same
message on my D's financial aid site. It also said we needed to complete
counseling for the Stafford Loan.

Ours did too! I couldn't take it anymore so I called the financial aid office. Of course the woman was very vague but when i said that we were hoping this meant my child would be a "new student" in the fall she didn't really deny it and said the letters were going out next week. She also said that message was probably just something they put up last night but i have been checking and it first appeared on mine about two weeks ago (but I didn't tell her that). Maybe it's just wishful thinking- I don't know what to make of it!

Decisions are out next week but will we know on Novasis on Monday? It says will be up the week of Monday March 24 but does that mean it will be up promptly on Monday or anytime next week?

I would be wary of the changes to the weblink and the vague answer from admissions staff. As parents, we tend to monitor the various college admissions portals for any change, no matter how very small, in the hope that it is a sign that our child has been accepted. We may take an obscure comment from a very overworked admissions staff as gospel...human nature, I suppose.

I am not saying that your observations don't deserve merit...in fact, I went back and checked our D's too...same messages. But we can all put this behind us next week when 'Nova makes the formal announcement. Suggest that we continue to prep our children for the leap from HS to college on a general front and let the various admissions staffs do their work. Our plates our full...we've submitted our SSN dozens of times, tax returns with all schedules, treasure maps to our 401K and a popcorn trail straight to our mutual funds.....and for all of that - we get to wait with our kids. Now the big question...when 'Nova invites our children...we can all jump for joy for an evening....and then somehow figure out how we intend to pay for it over a cup of coffee the next morning. God Speed to all!

If I didn't apply for financial aid, can I still see this? what is it under? Where on the site do you see this?

log onto your account..click finacial aid services...then the top option, "my overall staTUS OF FINACIAL AID"...sorry bout caps...from there its a select year option...chose the 08/09...once you do that..the message is at the top marked by a blue thought bubble (hopefully??) telling you this..."The following information is based on your status as a New Student Dorm/OC student receiving financial aid for the Fall and Spring Semesters"...people are hoping that means acceptence....i have it, and so im breathing easier atleast..but i have relatively modest stats, 29 act 95gpa...so if i got it...well, then maybe its not what we are hoping for..and then again, hopefully it is.

guys, i think they ALL say that

yaa id have to agree with that....only way to know...if it doesnt say it for you..let us know

Haha well um... slight problem... I just tried to log into my Novasis account and it said my "web access has been disabled"... I don't know what that means, but it CAN'T be good! Hahaha... oh dear... I'm not going to be worried about that though, it could just be a glitch. Doubt they would disable the accounts of rejectees before notifications were sent out. Plus, I would honestly be surprised if I didn't get into Villanova.. I mean, my stats aren't amazing but I thought it was a good match school for me.

They made some kind of changes on Novasis this week. Earlier in the week, it said I had satisfied all requirements. Now it says I need to do some kind of online Stafford loan counseling, even though it still says I have no award info. Does anyone know if this needs to be done in order to see their Financial aid or are they just getting ready to put it up? Thanks!

It says it for me.....crosses fingers

oh, shew, nevermind. my access got disabled because i had too many failed login attempts. i forgot a while ago i forgot my pin and my account got locked. i wasn't aware that was permenant though.
