i also believe that the letters one was 24. that question wasnt a hard question bc it was halfway throughout the math section so that makes it an easy one. 432*1=24. please correct me if u think im wrong

yea I put 24 for the exact same reason. It was like question 11 or something? If it were higher like a 17+ it would deff have been a trick

I put the answer was 8.

At firs I thought to go 4 P 4 on the calculator, which gives 24 but it just didn't seem right.

I decided to do out the combinations.

the letters were a e m t. and they had to be alternating with consonants and vowels not being grouped together.

a m e t
e m a t
a t e m
e t a m

t a m e
t e m a
m e t a
m a t e

I think those were all the possible combinations following the guidelines in the question. I can't remember the question exactly but at the time this looked right to me.

I, though, have a different question. Did you guys get 93 for the question about the repeating As? A B C D were repeating over and over again and you needed to figure out how many As there would be in the first 374 repetitions.
I did 374/4 = 93.5, and so I put down 93. (It was a grid-in question I believe).

what about the one with the number line and all of the letters and we were asked which one is true. i said r x r = t because r was negative and t was positive so a negative times a negative gives a positive. agree?

i think it was like r +s = 0 or something like that

^toomuch u could have have a combination like amte which isnt one of your 8 combinations so i know it cant be 8. But im not a 100 percent sure that 24 is right but it couldnt have been tricky since it was a medium type question.

ooo and u fell for their trick on the abcd blocks. yes it did come out to be 93.5 but 93 is not the answer bc .5 is also there. .5*abcd = ab so that adds an extra a to 93 making it 94.. that was a very tricky question i believe

azn, I don't think could have consonants *or *vowels grouped together. amte would put m and t next to each other.

Either way, stupid, confusing question, should have been worded better.

oo crap was that specified in the question??

I think so, azn, though I don't remember 100%. All i know is that at the time of the test those were combinations I got.

Btw, is what we're doing legal (in terms of sat policy)? haha

hah i dont really know i think we went a little too much in detail on the questions but i dont think it matters since practically 70 percent of people who take the sat will discuss some of the problems with others afterward

Remember
NOVEMBER 2008 SAT: QUOTING test questions IS NOT PERMITTED
For valid reasons.

Vowels and consonants could not be grouped together...that was the whole point of the problem..someone bombed CR.

The answer was 8.

yeah, I did out the combinations too, according to that stipulation

lol at "someone bombed CR"

lol no i did not bomb cr, i must have went through that question quickly bc i dont remember that. does anyone else remember it saying that they could not be grouped together?

Btw the experimental section was the grid-in section that DID NOT have the question about Johan and Maria selling tickets... so, the other one :P

well i got 8 right and forgot the .5 on the question with the letters. Feel for the trick azn, you're right. Damn, now i cant get an 800. 780's decent i guess.

plus i dont think that the creators of this sat would put a problem with those stipulations in the middle of the section.. but if im wrong then im wrong :(

the 1/9th one goes like this

27,9,3,1,1/3,1/9

It was like question 14/18...so it wasn't exactly a medium question.

thanks amby now i remember
