November 2009 CRITICAL READING Discussion

@hellomynameisc: I got those same answers too.

The childish language was how her daughter would call animals by made up names. I’ll just say “asdfjkl;” for example. The daughter said something like “asdfjkl; bye bye?” after the mom taught her the real name for the animal or whatever. The question was something like what did the daughter’s question really mean? The answer was that the daughter’s gonna abandon childish language.

crzygmer - dude, was that possibly on the back page or something? i don’t remember any question like that…

do you remember any other answer choices?

-environmentalist activism motivated by anger
-first environmental passage “accepting a trend”

Euclip: Yup, that’s what I put. It was the only one that really fit.

Crazygmer: I don’t think we’re talking about the same passage.

what about some more environmentalist questions? does anyone remember those?

I remember putting that both passages talk about scientists getting involved with policy.

sweet ok thats what i put too. For the first one, they mention anger to show the motivation behind the activisim right?

Yes. c:

(10 char)

oh does anyone know the question that compared the actions of the scientists in the two passages, and i think i put “writing articles” or magazine articles or something. does anyone remember what i’m talking about?

did any of you guys have “diversion” as an answer for the scientist/doctor oen?

yeah - kids play video games before surgery as a diversion

i disagree with the answered measured i think it was exurberant bc measured doesnt relate to speaking or remaning calm while exurberant is really positive it still shows that the man was able to do such even under pressure

It’s defintely measured. Look it up.

I had a writing experimental and my first writing section was section 2 about facial expression/emotions and then another section in the middle about building a pyramid…for those of you who knows what I’m talking about, which do you belive is the experimental and for those who didn’t have experimental, which one did you guys have?

I also had writing experimental, but mine was about Ireland. So facial expressions is the one that counts.

Honestly, I found writing to be much harder than CR this time. Praying to the ETS gods that my CR score goes up.

“given to…platitude”

for sure? darn

i put platitude as well.

what was facial expression??? i don’t remember that…

what was the sentence for the platitude one and the other choices for fill ins?
