platitude is definitely correct, matches the definition.

it was talking about how something contained obvious truths such as “war is bad” and “something is good” (for platitudes)

aww, ok then. thank you

hmm somethign about an author giving simple discriptions such as: something is good and evil is bad.

lol i said roll in her mouth like marbles was religious b/c all the words had to do with religion and she talked about her experiences going to church…something like that

Does anyone have idea on the: change of perception as primary purpose question? because i put it was mainly concerned with reactions to her hometown even though at the end it shows the change in perception.

and then; the indignantly rebuke answer is also what i chose at first then i change my answer to insincerity becuase indignant sounded extreme.

and does anyone remember any environmental passage questions??? that one was complicated!

i put change in perception because the hometown answer was “reflections about hometown.” it wasnt really a reflection becuase she was still living there…

tsunimani was pretty indignant

yeah i had trouble with the environmental question that asked about how the activists would view the book/scholars…something liek that

The general consensus on the forum is that “change of perception” and “indignant rebuke” are the right answers.

For the environmental passages:

environmentalist activism was motivated by anger
first environmental passage accepted a trend while the second questioned it
putting on two hats was the biologist advocating policy to save the chimpanzees

tabernacle one has to be sensory

can someone explain the moistened one. i had consumed i believe. moistened just doesn’t make any sense to me in context. it was something like her looking out over something and seeing the valley _____ in fog. consumed in fog fits. idk

i also had consumed b/c “moistened” implies there was some fog but consumed means there’s a lot( and i think it said something about a lot of fog?)

Consumed almost has a negative connotation to it. The fog didn’t damage the valley, but rather helped “moisten” the plains and fields.

You may be right because the original word was watered. But it still makes no sense to me. I’d think that fog would always be referenced as consuming the valley. Moistening the valley? meh

I think that this test’s CR section was really hard! I’m thinking I went down about 70 points from my last score.

Here’s hoping to a generous curve I guess…

There was no ‘trend’ Toasti. The beginning of the second passage claimed that there was a huge fight over that after something, I forget what. It wasn’t a trend, but rather something that was hotly debated.

In the passage, the author was admiring Machu Picchu and was trying to show the rich nature of the fields, which would allow a high biodiversity of flowers/plants to grow, therefore supporting his personal hypothesis. The fog did not consume the valley. Rather, it gave water to it. Consume implies that it’s more than enough. A valley consumed by fog for example would have an overabundance of water causing few plants to be able to live in that condition. Fog is after all mostly water vapor. It makes sense that the fog moistened the valley.

It wasn’t a “huge fight,” just a vote on whether the committee or whatever it was should get involved with policy decisions. Passage 1 “accepted” the trend that scientists were becoming more active in policy, while Passage 2 “questioned” the trend by giving arguments from both sides.

You may be right about transition. I think I was just assuming it was a sensory examination talking about the view from the ruins. As in the fog was shading the view of the valley. Consuming it.

What was the answer to the one where it asked what the scientists in passage one would think about the civic textbook ideas in passage two?

I put the answer that said not vigorous enough or something. Is that right?

not sure, i put the one where like the scientists agreed with the civic textbooks or something

that is the only one that im not sure of
