November 2010 - General Discussions - Curve, versions, DH, etc

I’m grinding my teeth right now for not having bought it (since SC is one of my best sections by default). I did know dearth and evocation but that one question with laconic/rancorous/wheedling/elliptical scorched me (Farmhouse/Deception/Quantum Physics version).

can someone predict my score?

Math, 3-4 wrong, two of them are grid ins.
Writing: essay 10-11, and -4, 2 skipped
Reading - 3 skipped, 5-7 wrong

Math: Easy but also room for a lot of careless errors.
-1 = 770
-2 = 750
-3 = 730
CR: Had version with Deception, Farmhouse, Quantum Physics, and one more experimental.
If you are wondering which one was experimental it was the one with patina and festoon as that section had only 23 questions. The critical reading sections must have 24 to be counted… Overall, excluding experimental, medium difficulty.
-1 = 800
-2 = 800
-3 = 790
-4 = 770
Writing: Essay was unbelievably easy. MC: Average, slightly more difficult.
-2/10 Essay = 800
-3/10 Essay = 780
-4/10 Essay = 760

Can you guys please predict my score!!!
Math : 9 omits and 2 wrong

Reading: 7 omits and maybe 10 wrong

writing: essay 10, mc maybe 4 wrong and 2 omits

Math: 610
Reading: 620
Writing: 720

what’s up sukmaLILdik?? How’s head coming along?

Anybody have a projected curve for the Echolocation/7^1600 version?

will both tests use the same curve or will each have its own curve??

I’m sorry, but can anyone guess my score?
Worst Case Scenario:
Math: 1 wrong
Writing: 1 wrong, 10 essay
CR: 7 wrong <---- :(

I don’t think it would be fair if they put both tests on the same curve since one was inevitable easier than the other.
They’ll probably have separate curves for them.

Maths - 1 Wrong
Critical Reading - 10 Wrong
Writing - 11 essay, and 5 wrong

No omits, can someone please guess my score. This is my first time, so I have no clue :S

The passage with the Chinese writerwas a little hard for me, the others were a little easier…

^ DK glad to see your still taking the test. Your posts were very helpful to me last year.

@cheng81894 those old words helped get me into the 700s on CR. The books have been awesome for the last 2 1/2 years - keep working on learning all the words!

@Ginnylee The Collegeboard will NOT have such a harsh curve for WR section. Last month, my friend achieved a score of 800 with a scaled score of 75 and a 12 on the essay.

im a noob, whats dh stand for

Its a SAT vocabulary book call Direct Hits.

thanks, im gonna buy it now

I did not take this sat, but have the rumors been confirmed? Was this sat the same as the november 2005.

@Meitou

Really? I thought last month’s writing was abnormally easy.

I was good without DH. I had only gotten my copy of it when I came home from taking the SAT. I dunno why but even if I don’t necessarily know the words I usually get them right. It’s probably because I know all of the other words, lol. It’s weird. The answer is just speaking off the page “pick me”.
