November 2010 SAT - Experimental

I have Quantum Physics, Farmhouse, Carribean, Deception and Chemical Farming.
@chickenfire, so we all have Quantum Physics, Farmhouse, Carribean and Deception. I don’t have fingerprint and I assume you don’t have Chemical Farming? If that’s the case then fingerprint is experimental for you and Chemical Farming is experimental for me?

I had chemical farming, but I distinctly remember it being two short passages instead of a long passage. #1 argued that it was good, and there was a question about author 1’s use of ‘That’s right.’ #2 agreed with overpopulation but disagreed with 1’s support of chemical farming.

Wait, so you had Quantum Physics, Farmhouse, Carribean, Deception, Chemical Farming and Fingerprint? Are you sure? I had Quantum Physics, Farmhouse, Carribean, Deception, Chemical Farming, but without Fingerprint…Yeah, both Chemical Farming and Deception were experimental section. But the 20mins’ Deception seciton was not experimental section for sure.

Fingerprint O.o? I think you mean DECEPTION.

I got a completely different version than what everyone else on this site took.

Here’s what CR consisted of:
Art forgery; book worm in the Congo; Japanese ocean-loving girl and her cousin; science and politics

If any of you got this, please tell me.

@hypsmc, I had the exact same CR as you. Did you also have a very short passage about an implied marriage proposal?

@Chickenfire, I had the Caribbean one too so it definitely wasn’t the experimental. I’m pretty sure the fingerprints was experimental though cause I never heard of that one…
and no problem for the math info, I’ve been trying to get some insight into which of them was experimental for me =)

@MyInnerNerd
Yes. I have experimental section but I didn’t have fingerprints, either. I think we are in the same boat…

@hypsmc what ‘subject’ was your experimental?

I had reading experimental section, but I can’t figure out which passage is experimental.

I guess when I posted this earlier no one took me seriously
but I for sure had a passage about adults who played video games and about video game clientele or something along those lines

and in this same section (I think?) I had dual passages about the role novels play in instilling moral values.

did anyone have these passages?

I must’ve missed your post earlier - I’ll add them in now.

Looks like the list is mostly complete, even though the CR experimentals are still somewhat uncertain. I personally doubt Carribean was experimental but some say it was, so…
And people are starting to move on, so I guess this won’t be bumped too many more times.

Writing
VERSION 1: College student board games, botanical garden, Film?
VERSION 2: Dragonwings/Chinatown, 14000 feet/3 miles
EXPERIMENTAL: Pyramids in Egypt (?), Girl visits Grandmother in Ireland (?), Traveller with different time zones (?)

Just for people taking the SAT later looking for past prompts to study -
ESSAY TOPIC WEST COAST: Is imagination less valuable than facts and objectivity?
ESSAY TOPIC EAST COAST: Is it better to focus on doing something for yourself or others? (paraphrased)

Critical Reading
VERSION 1: Echolocation, College Athletes, Bats, Music
VERSION 2: Farmhouse, Deception, Quantum Physics, Carribean (see EXP?)
EXPERIMENTAL: Caribbean (see VERSION 2?), Festoon/solipsistic/patina for SC, Clouds and Scientists (?) + Drawing girl (?), Fingerprints (?), groups affecting individuals’ decisions (?), Plato/Homer (?), grandmas fighting (?), college goals (?), biological creation on Mars (?), adults playing video games (?), moral values (?)

Math
VERSION 1: 7^1600, water hose, 100th row
VERSION 2: Multiple of 6/8/9, circle inscribed in two squares
EXPERIMENTAL: Mushroom/pepperoni pizza toppings

I’m pretty sure Caribbean is not experimental since I had it even though my experimental was math. Dang…CB had tons of different experimental versions this time around. Do they always have that many or is it pretty uncommon?

I didn’t have a Caribbean passage period. And I also think the drawing girl wasn’t an experimental, but I may be wrong.

Maybe we should just all conclude that we all had a specific kind of test because of our unique number corresponding to a specific version of a test.

I was pretty sure I had gotten an extra writing section since I got 35 questions in both, but I remember none of the experimental examples listed here or dragonwings version listed either.

MyInnerNerd - November SAT was, I think, the first SAT where they released two different versions of everything (you either got V1 or V2 of each section), making it really hard to figure out the experimental. Also, there seemed to be a ton of CR experimentals in comparison to the other two subjects, though CR passages are easier to remember than math/writing questions.

CalDud - This list is still incomplete, but the Nov SAT threads will be obsolete in a few days as people forget about it (and possibly shortly revived as scores come out, but unlikely). If you can remember any writing passages from the version you had (V1 or V2) that was not listed as part of that version’s description, it’d be cool if you could share.

That’s possible, but if it is, this SAT would be the first one ever to have been like that.

Was the experimental section of Math, the one with the surface area of cubes. It was like the area of cubes is increasing at some rate and the ans. was SUPPOSE to be 70 or something…
Srry I dont remember any of the questions posted in the experimental section of Math by Chicfire. So I just wanna clarify. :)
