***November 2013 - BIOLOGY E/M***

So, what did you guys think of the test?
I don't know if I should cancel...I left 8 blank, took the E section, and I think I got several wrong. I'm aiming for 700+ ugh

It was interesting.
I took the M section, which was harder than I expected.
I’m aiming for an 800 but I skipped 1 and think I got 3-4 wrong (where I just blindly guessed) What do you guys think?

I think it was much easier than the October test but…some of them were still confusing. It had more interpretations than usual. What are some of the questions you think were confusing?

I took Biology E and I remember I had to skip 2. The one asking about Chaparral and the last question in the Ecology section.

I actually thought the Bio M test was surprisingly okay. I took AP Bio last year and Honors Bio before that and I also have been rigorously reviewing for the past month or so. I really think that I did relatively well (700-800). I only omitted 3 and guessed on 3 or 4. It was really nice and could have been much worse. The hardest part for me was identifying the parts of the plant stem at the very beginning. I just really hate plant anatomy

I took the Bio E test today and I also skipped two… (I remember skipping the last one and #74 can’t remember what that one was about)
Chaparral I believe was the shrubs one

yeah the plant anatomy was a pain… I think I guessed on the part that developed the secondary xylem/phloem? (was it the inner material to the right of the center?)

I realized I missed one of the easiest endocrine system questions about what organ FSH and LH stimulate…I put uterus…why why why why why why why I realized this 3 seconds after the proctor collected the tests

I know I missed the question that was like “where does a plant store food” or something like that… I put down the one that was pointing to phloem, but I guess the answer was pith.

I skipped #84-the one about polypoidy on a recessive trait or something like that. I mean *** is that?

I walked out of the test hopeful that I could get at least 750+ but looking through my textbook, I’m not so sure anymore… But then that’s what I get for taking the test after two years of no biology experience and then cramming in only a day. I think I got at least 4/5 wrong already and I omitted one.

Man… that last E question… I had to omit, i literally had zero idea

@proflamel what was the answer to that question? I put uterus too…

@juicygirl yeah I think the plant store food was the pith (the center)

Does anyone else remember any questions?

And chaparral was not in barrons OR princeton review ughhh

@undie the answer was ovary

pith was choice B i think,and yes thats correct. also, what did you guys get for the roses diversity question?

ok what did you guys get for the red soil question. it was something like brushes and trees live on a mountain, why do two populations of trees grow in different soil types?

I think this bio test was a repeat of the December 2011:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/1252214-sat-ii-biology-m-december-3-a.html</a></p>

red soil i said that it was that thing that it has more nutrients than the white soil
honestly tho i had no clue - this entire test turned out to be a game of logic.
k was the answer mimicry for that question with the weevil and fly? like first of all what is a weevil in the test room im sitting there trying to extrapolate some image is this a cat or what i actually need to know lmao

omg i just googled its a bug ughhghhhhh i wanna cry i was thinking of the pokemon damnn

http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/13/135472/1891977-461weavile.png</a></p>

Actually this is more thorough with answers http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/939602-june-2010-biology.html</a></p>

@corallite
I think I put something like the soil types had different amounts of nutrients, or something about the varying climate…? I really can’t remember-I was stuck on those questions for like 5 minutes!

Is it just me or did it seem like there were a lot more ecology/evolution-related questions than any other questions? There was even a question about natural selection and polyploidy on the M section!

@PSavv999

Yes, the answer was mimicry, and the only think I could think about for the rest of the test was “what the heck is a weevil!”
