I’ve read for other schools its likely to be waitlisted/deferred if you audition early on. Is this true for Baldwin Wallace as well?

If you match the type they are looking for and show exceptional talent, I think you probably have a good chance of getting an acceptance at B-W in the early round. ATLAST’s D (currently a freshman with my S at UM) was accepted in December last year.

In general, I would say that less competitive programs are more likely to offer early acceptances and B-W is slightly less competitive than some, only because they require on campus auditions and therefore get fewer applicants.

PelkyAgain beat me to it, but I can confirm that B-W did accept at least two fall MT applicants last year that I am aware of. There very well may have been more, but these are the ones I know of personally. Acceptances came in the mail within two weeks of auditioning, which makes for a very nice, stress-relieving Christmas gift for those kids! :)

Thanks to you both. My S auditions 11/15. Of all the schools he’s communicated with BW has been exceptionally friendly. His admissions counselor even text him, he loved this LOL. And no matter what they always end with well wishes re: the upcoming audition. I think that’s great. I’m excited we get to see Carousel while we are there.

MTMajorCook, my D and I are a year behind you in this whole process. She has become very excited about the BW program through our initial research. We are planning a visit in the Spring and then she is planning to do the fall audition next year. I would love to hear about the whole experience that your son has any any feedback you think would me useful! Please tell your S to break a leg!

MTRaleighmom - we started a 2013/2104 audition thread in the general forum I’ll post all the details there. BW is my dream school, cept I’m old and have no talent so its not an option for me LOL

Thanks so much MTMajorCook! I will watch that thread for updates!
