November SAT discussions (international)

i think the latter (beachcombing) was the experimental… it was section 7 for me

hmm… @haggahagga, why the “unfortunately?” I thought the first section had less controversial questions than the second.

How do you know the first one was the real :?I also think it was better…

No, beachcombing was the first (section 3 or 4), section 7 was about the birds, at least in my test.

overachiever91: The US SAT from March was the same test:

Can anyone organize a consolidated list of answers? Also, for the innuendo, skepticism question, what was the correct answer?

teh_chou
I think we haven’t had much of new answers since the consolidation on page 14.

Is our curve identical to March 2009 US?

wow has ETS ever given the exact same test at two different times before this one? i know it’s international vs. US, but still… i’m pretty surprised that they did this.

I chose innuendo for that question as it was directly relevant to his hurling personal attacks to whomever, though I can see why some people read it as skepticism (which did seem a bit on the over-analyzing side.)

aSineWave: I think they do it all the time (that’s why they don’t want us to share the questions with others). I took Literature subject test last October that was identical to a test from 2007.

Hey guys, what did u choose for that question ?

Olga sat in the waiting room …
A) hours, her fingers tapping restlessly
B-D were wrong
E) hours with her tapping her fingers restlessly

I think it should be E because in A ,somehow I dont think the ‘’,‘’ correctly separates these sentence

^Well from what you wrote, I would definitely say that the answer is A.

Yes,I know now that I was wrong.Damn it ,when I was doing this kind of questions at home I was so good,I just dont know what happens when doing the real thing… hoping for no more than 4-5 errors and low 700s…

^It happens to everybody. I know what you mean. On my PSAT’s i was taking at home, i was scoring 216-219. On the real thing, im expecting 205-213. It happens. This score is obviously not my true potential and yours wont be either. So don’t fret. Tis what it is!

Maybe the time pressure is an important factor. At home I see the correct answer, mark it ,and go on… On the real test, after I am sure which is the correct one, again,I check each option to make sure…

so wait…was the first writing section experimental or the second one?

It appears to be the second one ;)

Can anyone write for me the SC question with the answer mellifluous (about the singer) and its answer choices? I don’t remember putting something like that.

Hey how much do you think: 1 wrong in Math will get me, 3-4 wrong in CR will get me and about a 9 (essay) with 2-3 wrong in grammar will get me In WR?

Math 780-90
CR 770-80
WR 740-50
