It’s all about presentation. Show your passions, and the chips will fall into place.
Good luck! =D

I personally think that many of these threads attempt to judge without context. I know that everyone is nervous (I sure was before I was accepted early), but I think that it would make everyone feel better if you all go and do something fun for the holidays rather than stress.
I really do believe that in college admissions, the “soft” factors are just as important and cannot be condensed into a few descriptive sentences. Yes, test scores should be at a certain place, but as for one’s academic record, Penn emphasizes that it is viewed in the context of one’s school or environment. This is not something you can just summarize, it is required that you know more, which is why a secondary school report is required. So I have learned that it is good to take everything that is not spoken by someone in admissions with a grain of salt.
Good luck to everyone.

From your profile I’d say that I see you as someone for CAS instead of Wharton. Your stats are good, so I suppose it’s up to the essays you write and the recs you provide. As a fellow Whartonite-hopeful I wish you good luck! Hopefully we’ll be meeting on campus next fall ;)

I think you have a chance to UPenn provided that your essays are stellar. Ideally, your SAT II scores should have been MUCH higher, but you seem to have good ECs. However, your actual SAT score is very low by Upenn standards.

you have a rigorous schedule, though.

I’d say 40% chance with outstanding essays, but I’m no expert.
good luck!

just kidding about your SAT scores, I read them wrong. They are decent…I’d say 50% chance now. :)

cannot post much
because from what i have read
you allready have advice you need
but I would say apply to wharton !
good luck

Thank you for chancing me!

I think Penn is a reach, but a low one. Your coursework and extracurriculars are very impressive. You are an excellent student, just show that you are MORE than just an excellent student by showing passion towards something in your personal essay!
I am no expert, but I think your chances are good. :)

Thanks for chancing me!

I would say that Wharton is a low reach.

You have great EC’s, and overall look pretty sound. My only suggestion would be to do very well on your AP retakes.

Good luck!

Just for the record, AP scores don’t hurt you in applications… and senior year AP scores are obviously irrelevant since you will have already committed to a school by the time you take the tests. They can only help.

Wharton = low reach

Id say your chances are very slim for Wharton like 1/10, Penn 2.5-3/10, Cornell CAS 5.5/10, Columbia 4/10, MIT 1/10 matches would be UMich, Purdue, and closer reaches would be Duke and Vanderbilt. Have you looked at Stern (NYU), I think that would be the best for you if you could get in.

chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/831718-can-i-get-into-johns-hopkins-engineering-ed-3.html

Not applying to MIT because I hate it, not applying to Columbia, accepted at UMich, applied to NYU Stern.
Aren’t JHU ED decisions out already?

i think you definately have a shot at both penn and wharton, but im not sure how your profile will match up against their regular admissions.

Hey,
I dunno but it seems like Penn will be a bit of a reach for you. I think you do stand out, but not enough to be spotted you know? These days its hard just to be attention grabbing enough etc. etc. But i’ll put your chances at 30%…

Chance me please!
