jyun…be yourself and keep it. My son is an athlete and, although he is quite conservative in his hairstyle and dress, there are plenty of athletes on the other teams…even the ultra-preppy “uniform” schools…where I have seen athletes with earrings, mohawks, tattoos, etc.

Tatoos, earrings, spiked hair, weird clothes, etc.

Are all these forms of true SELF expression or are they merely unoriginal attempts to be ‘original’? Please, I say if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. In that sense they are no different than the cookie-cutter preppie look.

Real originality has nothing to do with looks.

Dress in the accepted norm at whatever school you attend, then be the unique individual that you are.

If the dress code was such an issue why would you guys apply?? You didn’t consider this before.

We know we wanted “preppy” so that is where we applied.

On revisit at L’ville, my d said that 80% of the students where in jeans…thus not preppy enough for her, thus not the right fit.

I’ve decided to shave off the Mohawk for preseason anyways but I’m keeping my Earing case closed

jyun: I have checked with the DA Admissions Office, and they have not yet made any offers off of the WL, regardless of Financial Aid status. Please do not mislead any CC readers, as you have not been offered a spot at Deerfield.

Wait, jyun is this true? Have you really been offered a spot at Deerfield?

He said that he was admitted at Deerfield after they clarified some of his FA info. The admission office may not have considered that as an accept off of the waitlist. So I don’t think it was a “true” waitlist but a provisional admit?

So how were the revisits, J? I’m so excited for you…:D
