should i go to UCB the first two years and take the GEs there, or go to a community college?
why spend thousands more, when u can take the GEs at a jc for a much lower price?
i’m trying to come up with reasons going to UCB for the first two years is better, but so far it sounds more logical to go to a community college.
any arguments?

Well, Im a transfer student who is trying to get into Berkeley right now, so I obviously chose to go to ccc. Overall, I am happy with my choice. I dont think I was ready to leave home when I had the option to and I feel much better about it now. But... I didnt exactly love going to ccc. I mean, I had a few REALLY bad teachers. Luckily, I am the personal assistant to the dean of humanities, so it was easier to get good teachers and stuff, but still. And some of the students I took classes with were clearly there because their parents said they either had to get a job or go to school. These are the people who did nothing in high school. Sometimes I felt like all my effort in high school was in vain. I dont know, I guess its just trading off prestige and academic excellence for money, and its a very personal choice.

hm... it's a tough choice for me...
