I am a Senior in High School and I am very intrested in the NROTC program. And going into the Marine option unit.I was wandering what would be a good major for me. I want a mojor tht will help me get the scholorship and I will also be able to get great grades and get into the MOS i want. I am a very smart student and usually have a 3.9. Any help would be great thanks.

The Marine Corps doesn't care. You just need to have a degree. I personally chose Arabic, because I figure that I'll be in that area at some point.

My son is Marine option. Just finished OCS a month ago, now headed back to Duquesne for his senior year. He is an accounting major. The USMC is a special breed - major doesn't matter. I agree with Dan...but I would major in a science and minor in Arabic or Farsi.

S is in NROTC (Navy Option). Since major doesn't really matter to Marines, I would say to choose something you are interested in and can do well in...not just something that you think looks good on the NROTC app. Many in S's unit started out in engineering but could not handle the workload and either dropped out of NROTC or changed their major. Also, you are not held to the major that you put on the app. They know kids change their minds. S completed his app. at the start of senior yr. and by the next spring had changed his mind about his major.
