Does anyone know how the NROTC satellite campus thing works? Do they hold classes at both schools, or will she have to commute back and forth between WSU and Idaho multiple times per day? (morning calisthenics, classes, inspections, mandatory study hall, etc)
It’s going to be a long commute. That campus is a long way from any water big enough to float a Navy ship.
I believe she will have to travel to the university that houses the NROTC program.
I copied this from the UI NROTC page:
“You will be a fully integrated member of the UI Battalion. In addition to being a student at WSU, you must apply to be a non-degree seeking transfer student at UI in order to take your Naval Science classes. As a WSU student you will have to travel to UI for PT, class, and other Battalion events. Having a car is helpful, but not mandatory. The WSU Battalion members cooperate together to ensure that transportation is available. Upperclassmen often assist freshmen without cars.”
It’s eight miles from Pullman to Moscow, probably 10 or 11 from campus to campus. It’s totally doable. I have a friend who is in NROTC and a sorority, has a part-time job, and is taking a full class load, and she’s managing just fine.
