My doctor told me when I was getting the forms filled out that he’s done them for various programs before, and usually they are to just make sure you don’t have any contagious diseases. And if you have a severe disability that you didn’t mention in the application or in the interview, the medical forms might rule you out–though that’s just my idea. I would think if they’re spending quite a bit of money they wouldn’t want to take the chance of sending someone overseas that might have problems/incidences while they are there.

My guess is… April 19th at 11:00 AM

The voices are telling me to say April 15th at 4:30 PM

I have way too much time… was ‘datamining’ trying out different search words and I happened upon afswiki.org - if you are an afs volunteer you can access the ‘private pages’ and they appear to have interviewee information. But alas I am not a volunteer. But for those of you who have a lot of time, there seems to be some info here and I some of their pages are now open to the public. In one spot I read that they are waiting to tell the alternates not until after they have told the finalists, so that they can keep a bigger pool of applicants open as long as possible (makes sense). And in one of the open areas I was able to read the March AFS volunteer newsletter and in it I found this:

Hosted Student Travel Dates

April 14…3 PM

Goalpost, thanks for finding that. I went to the site, searched “nsli-y”, and found this:
