Anyone have any info on it? I was thinking about going back to Taiwan to study for college. I am extremely fluent in both English and Mandarin, and I understand Taiwanese though I don't speak it.

I have questions on how to apply as an undergrad for their Business Department. Since both my parents are of Taiwanese descent, and I was born in California, am I still considered an international student?

As an "overseas Taiwanese" you are likely to get special admission consideration. I liked living near Tai Da and taking some classes there in the 1980s, although I didn't get into the classes I really wanted to get into (because the department had had an American student a few years earlier who RUINED the reputation of all Americans for quite a while). I think spending some time in Taiwan would be a very good experience for you.

Ah, well most of my family does live in Taiwan so I have been back numerous times. Do you know what the admit rate is for special admission consideration? And how do they know that I am an "overseas Taiwanese"?
I'm using this application form:
:::::: Office of International Affairs Degree Student Admission ::::::
Is that right? I was just going to print out all the documents and mail them. :/

I would fit the "international student" category, because neither of my parents nor I ever had Republic of China citizenship. Check the qualifications details linked to from the page you posted to see whether you fit the "international student" category or perhaps a different category for an overseas Taiwanese ("overseas Chinese" on the form). You ought to fit SOME admission category, but it looks like it is important to make sure you apply according to the correct set of rules that fit your case.

I guess I would be an Overseas Chinese/Taiwanese, because both my parents were born in Taiwan, though they have American citizenship. Bah, do you know where I can find the English site for Chinese Overseas students? I can't really read Chinese.

This depends on your ACT/SAT scores and GPA, but I would most likely NOT go to NTU for college. I was there last summer for a pre-college program, and it was definitely sub-par to those in America. I don't see WHY you would even want to go to Taiwan to study, but if you must, try NTPU (Tai Da).

Oh, and from personal experience Tamkang isn't too bad. Beautiful campus.

Serise, which college are you talking about?

I'm sure the OP is talking about 國立臺灣大學, the "flagship public University in Taiwan."

National Taiwan University

I used to live near the campus in the 1980s.

NTU is Tai Da.

What precollege is there at taida? I wanna check it out actually…
