Hi,
My daughter is an international student and yday she got accepted in Northeastern University. The admission letter says that she is selected for the NU bound programme and 2 semesters she has to do in UK. In their college application they asked us whether we will be interested in studying abroad to which we said NO. My daughter is greatly disppointed. She was really looking fw to pursuing her studies in this University. Though she sent an email in theis regard does anyone know what we can expect? If the preference in the application was not considered then why was it asked?
It seems they send the international students on this pathway. Gone are the days when NEU had a 90% acceptance… this is a way to avoid SAT reporting… in London last year they bought a college to use… I don’t think it’s a great idea to send your kid there as they loose out on the freshman experience on the main campus
NU bound is usually meant for students that had reading or writing (usually toelf) scores that are not as high as NE would like. They send international students to NU bound to help them improve their reading and writing.
But my daughter got 8 in IELTS and 680 in SAT English reading and writing. I understand this is above average! My question is if it was their discretion why did they ask the question in the common application whether we will be interested in study abroad program? (For which our answer was NO)
