<p>I'm a transfer student, Junior standing, and I am number 2 on the waitlist for a class of 22 people...Should I just look for another class instead or do I have a chance so I should just wait.</p>
<p>I’m in the same boat execpt im 12 for a class of 320. Seems like everyone is avoiding our question(s).</p>

<p>I remember reading on another thread that about 10% of any class drops so you have a good chance.</p>

<p>@INSERT, Everyone is avoiding these questions because it’s annoying to reply 800 times to every single person about “waitlist chances”. Sorry, just voicing the truth 
We’ve all said, generally 10% drops. So neeeeena, you’re most likely fine, and INSERT you’re fine too. 98% of the time my response to these questions will be “take the chance.”</p>

<p>and honestly, 10% is an estimate. we hesitate to give you wishy-washy answers because we don’t like giving answers to things we don’t know for sure. it wouldn’t be fun for us if you came back and said “___'s advice is absolutely useless, i didn’t get into my waitlisted class and now i won’t graduate in 4 years etc” right? </p>

<p>You guys shouldn’t worry about it. All waitlist treads on this forum advise people to take the chance and enroll in the class if your position on the waitlist is within 10% of the total class size. The chances of getting in are pretty high (~85%). I also advise staying on the waitlist until it ends because professors sometimes let people on the waitlist into the class.</p>
<p>I recommend staying on the waitlist since I have gotten into every waitlisted class while using the 10% rule.</p>
<p>I’d suggest you just take another class if it doesn’t greatly affect your schedule. I made the mistake of going on an afternoon class waitlist instead of going to the 8am with open spots.
