inquiringinfo-- i am guessing UIC is U illinois Chicago-- 287-100-42
docontheroc-- 237-38-15

just wondering where those stats are from.

also plushenko, i was wondering why so many people at my school think that just because they got an interview to the university of illinois-chicago gppa program, they are pretty much admitted to the program. is that even true?

Those stats are from MSAR and no, I don't know enough about the GPPA to answer your question..

sorry for asking again, but how recent are those stats from MSAR, and where can i find out this info too (or do i need to buy the book?)

thanks so much plushenko..i really appreciate it and good luck with HPME

Well, the book is for admissions in year 2005-2006 (the most recent one on the market). I think you do need to buy that.
:) Are you also applying to HPME???

no im not...HPME is a little too competitive for me :) from your stats, you have an awesome shot so i hope you'll get in because you really deserve it.

wow so those are the stats for UIC (u illinois chicago) GPPA 58 people get rejected...

thanks again, plushenko

no problemo :)

Regardless of the #applied/accepted, I think HPME has the highest average stats among those that give that out. For example, HPME's are 1535 and top 1% (SAT I and class rank) whereas PLME's is 1430 and 2%. HPME's SAT IIs (math2c/chem/writing) average is 2300.

Does anyone know GW's stats?

600 apply, 60 interviews about a third get a spot, but its prolly more than that since usually 20 end up going. i honestly cant remeber where ifound out this info, either on an old board or from someone at gw.

Are you sure that, out of the 1300-1600 applicants that apply to PLME, only 100 are offered JUST admission to Brown and not the med program? Why should that rate be lower than if you applied normally to it?

yea I'm pretty sure about those numbers. Remember, you have to add in the other 100 that get into PLME, so 200/1400 is about 1 in 7, which I think is on par with Brown admissions. I've seen those numbers in numerous places, but if you can find any others....

According to the PLME website, in 2004-2005, there were 1,400 applicants to the PLME. Of that number, 103 were offered admission to the PLME and an additional 116 were offered admission to other Brown degree programs. In fall 2004, 67 matriculated in the PLME, and 64 matriculated in other Brown degree programs.

hi,
how do you know there are 1600 applicants to the Brown PLME?

Who said that there are 1600 this year? I don't think that figure's been announced. Perhaps dcircle knows?

i'm sorry, i'm not sure what the plme numbers are this year off the top of my head but 1600 sounds about right. good luck everyone and sorry for the delayed response!

anyone have any info on psu?

in my brown letter it said they could only enroll 60 people out of over 1500 applicants for PLME.

I was rejected for PLME by the way

University of Southern California
800 applied this year
cut down to 100 for interviews
cut down to about 30-45 who get an in
they eventually want 30 to enroll
