If I want to go in the path of a nurse or nurse anesthetist, would I major in Biology or Nursing? Some UC's do not offer Nursing as a major :C.

Also, can do I have to go to graduate school to become a nurse, I've been searching for information on google but everyone is saying something different.

I’m interested in Nursing too!
I’m applying to UCI and Davis (for nutrition). But there’s also UCLA for nursing and several of the CSUs that offer nursing.

It would be preferable to major in nursing, I think it takes longer to become a CRNA if you major in something else.

Another option, that I’m personally interested in is becoming a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner. It’s basically right under a doctor and are becoming synonymous with doctors in some areas/states. You can get a degree in anything (preferably science related like nursing, nutrition, kinesiology, or biology) and then go to PA school to become a Physician Asst. Or if you get a nursing degree you’d go to NP school and becoming an NP.

You don’t need to go to graduate school to become a nurse, but if you want to advance your practice then you can do more schooling. You definitely will need higher education to become a CRNA.

Yeah I’m thinking about becoming a P.A. too but they have to take classes like organic chemistry, basically same classes as pre-meds. But I want to become a NP or CRNA as soon as possible because more time spent in school is more tuition lost.

As of right now, I am applying for all the middle UC’s for biological sciences.
