Nursing at JHU

Does JHU have a nursing program for undergrads? I've been scoping around online, and I've come to the conclusion that an undergrad has to apply into the nursing school after 2 years at hopkins. So, if this is the case, does an applicant apply as any major, finish the pre reqs, and then apply to the nursing school?

You are correct except that it is by no means necessary (or even very common) to do the first two years of undergraduate work at the Homewood Campus of Hopkins (i.e., Krieger School of Arts & Sciences or Whiting School of Engineering). The vast majority of students entering Hopkins’ nursing school have done their first two years elsewhere (often at public universities or community colleges). While the School of Nursing at Hopkins is arguably the best in the nation, there frankly are relatively few undergraduates at Homewood who are interested in a nursing career so the number of Hopkins’ undergraduates applying to the nursing school is quite small.

Thank you for your response! So if I were to do my first two years of undergraduate work anywhere, would I also be able to choose to major in anything, say history? Or does it have to relate to nursing, say public health?

Yes. Here are the prerequisites you will need.
