Nursing Major Admission

I am currently a 3rd year nursing student in a prestigious college. I failed in the first day in my clinic rotation because of my immaturity. Failure in one clinic will result to fail the class and receive F in the class. I can re-take the class, but F will be still in my transcript. How much will the F affect me getting into a grad school?

I have many As and several times in dean list. I worked very hard in my college.
The clinic liaison in my clinic first day (6:30am - 7pm) pointed my 3 mistakes. (1) too excited to go to surgery room (2) had my eyes for closed during 2pm conferences for some time (3) show astonished in front of a patient when RN drop some stuff accidently. In my school, 3 mistakes, you will get F in this clinic. My other scores are full credit so far, but end at F in this class. I am feeling very bad.

If you do well in the rest of your nursing education and do well for a few years working as an RN, I find it hard to believe that it will matter that much. If you try to enter grad school quickly, it might matter a little more than if you enter with more experience.

Unless you actually fell asleep, it sounds a little severe to have failed you for the whole semeter’s clinical because of those incidents on one day.

it was my first clinic day. i was tired during after lunch conference since the clinic started at 6:30am. The lunch conference was 1-3pm. I had notes, I took notes. I think it was the incident “I felt too excited” trigger this one to make me fail the class. My scores in the clinic course have been all full credit this semester.
