Nutritionist

Hello,

I'd like to pursue a degree in college to become a nutritionist. However, I'm not sure which majors I could possibly pursue. Also, what would the workload be like in college?

Thanks!

Look for nutrition-related majors such as nutrition science or dietetics. If you are working towards a specific career, look for colleges that also offer coursework in that area. For example, you might be interested in psychology or food service management or athletic training.

Some states have licensing requirements. If your state has one, make sure you enroll in a college program that would help you get licensed.

Regardless of licensing or registration requirements in your state, the American Dietetic Association offers its own (optional) professional certifications. You can find a list of their approved college programs here: [Accredited Education Programs](http://www.eatright.org/BecomeanRDorDTR/content.aspx?id=8156#.UKljepgsfEM)
