Hi, Anyone know any New York colleges that are willing to take consideration more on GPA than SATs?

Sure, test optional schools - see the list here sorted by state:
[SAT/ACT Optional 4-Year Universities | FairTest](http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional/state)

Wait so are you sayings that schools that aren’t test optional will weigh SATs more? o.o

I would just look into schools where your SAT score falls at least within the middle 50% average or is almost there. Keep in mind that NYU is a school on that list that doesn’t require applicants to submit SAT scores but still many, many students do and will. You really need to prove that you are amazing in some other way if you don’t submit SAT scores (major high school and statewide academic prizes and awards, 4s and 5s on AP exams, etc).

No. GPA **and ** difficulty of courses is usually more important than SAT, but some schools might consider them equal. No one considers SAT more important, but *sometimes *a high SAT will help compensate for a slightly lower GPA.
Look at the CDS for each school, or the admission website of each school to see how important test scores are.
midnight makes a good point - some schools that don’t require you to send test scores require something else instead. Varies by school.

Yeah what happens of just one of the section of the my SAT scores falls below the 50% but 2 of the other sections are on target and over the 50%? Can that one section hurt you if everything else is good like GPA, extracurricular and other things? or does it depend on the college?

Depends on college and how far off you scored in that particular section from the average. You should just apply under Early Decision if that school has that option to increase your chances of admission. Bug keep in mind that under ED you are making a binding commitment to attend the school should you be accepted, regardless of financial ability to do so.

^ If you ask for financial aid at ED time, the school will make you an offer you can decline if it’s not enough to enable attendance.

Most of BTG’s post is accurate but the part quoted is not totally correct. There are some schools where scores are weighted more than rank or GPA. As of a few years ago (I haven’t checked each one lately) Montana doesn’t look at GPA but scores and class rank are very important, for Nebraska GPA is just considered but scores and class rank very important, South Carolina has scores and GPA very important while class rank is only considered, and TX has class rank as very important, scores important, and GPA Not considered. As of three years ago South Carolina DID consider scores more important than both GPA and rank (no longer).
I think it’s too late for me to ED. I did plan to do RD for all my schools. I’m just scared that i won’t make it to a school where i would want to go. I did put down some safeties where i don’t plan on going but if i have to then i have to.
