NY student, needs help!

Hey my GPA is a 2.49 and i have a 1850 SATs

I live in the NY state area, so where should I apply to?

Thanks a lot!

Apply to all the SUNYs; Elizabethtown; Lycoming; St Josephs; Susquehanna; Manhattanville

Is that your weighted GPA? Your SAT is much better than your GPA.

Does anyone know if any of the SUNY’s expect a 3.0 or higher GPA?

BTW…if you’ll be needing Financial Aid, do you know if you’ll qualify?

Oh thanks a lot! do you guys have any ideas of what colleges near the tri-state area? (Philly, NJ, Mass.)

And mom2collegekids: Unfortunately, i’m in a really messed up yet competitive high school that has recently recovered from a corrupt administration. The teachers have a totalitarian rule over the kids. Good thing we had excellent student teachers at my junior year.

And 2.49 is my unweighted average. I believe my weighted average is an 81(2.6?)
Most of the large public SUNYs’ average(I just checked) are 85 or above. But there were quite a few below that range that have been accepted the past 4 years in my school.
And i believe for the FAFSA or any other financial programs, there’s a set guideline that determines how much you get. I believe everyone gets financial aid if parents’ annual income is less than 70,000. People from lower incomes just gets more.

“I believe everyone gets financial aid if parents’ annual income is less than 70,000. People from lower incomes just gets more.”

That’s us, but I can assure you that doesn’t necessarily mean you will get enough aid.

Eldest son was accepted to RPI, but they expected us to come up with $27 grand a year. Not in this lifetime…

What do you want to major in? If you are in the tristate area, you should check out the CUNY’s.

haha yes i forgot to add in “some” before financial aid.

I’m somewhere between business economics and sociology/psychology.
