will Penn State take walkins at NY unifieds

Yes, the do. I have known people who have done it in the past.

Yes they will this year I myself will also be trying to get a walk-in appointment. I spoke with the mt department on the phone and they said that the check in will take place on the 8th floor and their audition schedule is as follows:

10:30-12:00
12:00-1:30
2:00-3:30
3:30-5:00

I would check with the check in folks running the audition at least 20-30 minutes before whatever time works for you I asked if you have to check in for each time slot if the previous one happened to be full and the woman at the school said she wasn’t sure, so make sure you check-in with the audition coordinators if you want to be considered for other times during the day Break a leg! Maybe I’ll see you there :)

Anyone know about walk ins in LA?

In the past, they also allowed walk-ins in LA as I know someone who did it.

Thank ya, soozie!

Hi! I just wrote this on the other thread, so I will repeat:
I am a PSU MT alum ('07!) and have been running the NY Unifieds for a few years. We do accept walk ins, if time allows, by waitlist. Please visit me FIRST thing in the morning so that I can add you to a waitlist, and keep checking back 20-30 minutes before those time slots that the mt department informed you of to see if you get a slot! Time is very tight at these auditions, and we don’t have that many slots. I want to get in as many people as possible–so see me first thing in the morning and I’ll get you on the list and do the best I can do! My name’s Casey–be sure to introduce yourself!

Casey, will there be musical accomanpiment (pianist) at NYC unifieds, or does my daughter have to bring the music on cd?

There will be an accompanist, he has been with us for years now and is WONDERFUL. Please don’t bring music on cd…sheet music back to back in a binder is best. Also, we always ask students to cut their songs to 32 or 16 bars so that the professors have maximum time with each auditionee–so be prepared to cut!
