NYC area colleges

Oh and word of advice, Macualay only covers tuition. If you’re going to apply know that you still have 10,000 dollars + to pay each year.

She stated that she’s planning on living at home.

Wordworker: That’s fine:). Yes, to people who know the signs it’s really blatant. My school, being religious, really pushes schools like Stern, so it was definitely under consideration, but the issues are pretty huge.
Jazzii: Yes, I will probably either live at home or figure something else out. I don’t count on getting a dorm space, considering that there are few and far between in many CUNYs (Hunter apparently has thousnads of students and only a couple hundred spaces).

I was referring to this part, maybe I misunderstood, I thought living on campus was an option

what about city college?

Also what part of the city are you looking at… any of the 5 boroughs?

I’m not really counting on living on campus. I particularly want to go to Hunter or Brooklyn if I go to Macaulay and I don’t know about Brooklyn, but like I mentioned, Hunter is impossible to get a dorm room at. Brooklyn I’d need an apartment or dorm for, because I probably couldn’t drive unless all my classes were in the afternoon, but I’m still thinking about possibilities.
Besides, I’m not thinking that I can do it totally free. I would just like to keep it to the minimum. Housing is a different issue than tuition, one which I’m taking into account.

Macaulay Honors covers tuition at all CUNYs, but there can be additional benefits depending on the CUNY you select. Hunter pays for housing for the first 2 years, Lehman gives a $3,000/year stipend, etc.

Oh, cool! I did NOT know that. Great to know, thanks!
