NYC Colleges For Social Work

I’ve been accepted at Eastern Nazarene & applied to Montclair.

My mom is low-income, but my dad makes nearly 100K. They’re divorced, but my dad is required to pay 50% of my tuition. He’s usually awful about paying for anything. He’s decided to tell me NOW he’s willing to pay “a little extra” for my tuition. Knowing this, I’ve decided to look at more schools. Please recommend colleges with social work in NYC, nothing too expensive or selective.

Here’s my stats:

NJ Resident, Senior, Female, White (15% Hispanic)
3.3 GPA, Regular Classes
FA needed, eligible for Pell Grant.
1410 SAT (360 M 490 CR 560 W)
Volunteered with an animal rescue, church daycare, and online ESL tutoring.
EC: Currently: Dance (10 yrs) Have done Yearbook, Community Service, Cooking, Martial Arts

You may want to look at University of Scranton and Siena College. You don’t have to submit your test scores. They aren’t too far.

Both very good schools, nice campuses lots of school spirit.

Adelphi University is in Long Island, NY which is in very close proximity to the city. It has a very good social work program, it is not too selective, and they are very good with financial aid/scholarships. You should definitely check it out!

Some others for you to consider are Molloy College (also pretty good with aid from what I hear), The College of Saint Rose, Marist College, and Iona College.

You can check out a few of the CUNYs and SUNYs as well since some may have social work.
