But this is including all 3 campuses
@vwnyu22 I’m not sure about ED2, but i know the acceptance rate for ED1 is unfortunately roughly the same as that of regular decision. However I think if you put LSP as your first choice you’ll stand a stronger chance, as most people put LSP as a second choice and are placed in there, rather than designating it as their first choice.
@kuhlm44937 I applied to Steinhardt for MCC. I’ve also heard that it is quite competitive, so hoping for the best! Do you have a strong background in communication and arts?
@cnc4599 I’d like to think so, but compared to the kinds of students NYU attracts, maybe not so much lol. I’ve had leadership positions linked to media like “Alumni Media Director” of a non-profit org I volunteer for, public relations officer of my honor society, media teams for seminars ect. What about you? I didn’t find out how competitive the major was until after I submitted, started to wish I’d applied for Journalism at CAS, but we’ll see what happens…
@kuhlm44937 that sounds pretty impressive to me, I think you have a good shot as long as your GPA and scores are in the typical range for an NYU applicant. I don’t have a strong background in film or visual communications, but I have written for my schools blog and yearbook and I have done theatre and thespian society for almost 6 years. I tried to really show them my love for the arts and communication through my essays because I know my writing is my strongest asset, and that my ECs could’ve been a little stronger.
@cnc4599 I’ve heard that they put a lot of weight on the NYU supplement. I spent so long on mine. I hope it works in our favor!
@vwnyu22 I hope so too
@kuhlm44937 What is your sense of “the kinds of students NYU attracts?” I heard that its 75,000 applications is the most for any private university this year…
@YoungOne4 I mean students that get into NYU tend to have high test scores and very impressive ECs & leadership positions-that mine wouldn’t compare to. It wasn’t a negative thing if that’s what you were wondering haha
@vwnyu22 I watched a video from NYU as well where they said essays and the “why NYU” supplement were really important. I spent a lot of time on mine but I’m a little scared it won’t be enough :-<
@kuhlm44937 7 I watched that before I wrote mine so I spent sooooo long. I honestly don’t think it’ll be enough to save my GPA
Does anyone know how competitive the Global Liberal Studies program is? I applied to it as a second choice.
@waffles4life I did too… I’ve heard it’s significantly less competitive but I’m probably still underqualified. I saw that you were deferred, would you mind PM’ing me your stats?
@cnc4599 oops sorry I woulda sworn I replied back to you but looks like i forgot to hit post
And then it just cut out half my Message lol. But colleges always say it’s qaulity vs. quantity, and 6 years is a long commitment! And it definitely show a strong background in the arts. If you wrote for your schools blog/newspaper for a couple years that’ll look great as well! Good luck, I really hope we both get in!!
Did anyone who applied NYU RD get an email from them yet? Like the emails you track the status with
I havent received my rd email confirmation with portal link yet either…
I applied December 30 and have not received any confirming emails yet. I assume it’s because they were closed until Jan 2, and then there was a storm that forced everyone to stay home.
@kuhlm44937 its np! I really hope we both get in too and I just got my portal information about 45 minutes ago.
@kulhm44937 Thanks for your thoughts.
