My D got Invitation to visit Shanghai campus on 4/25-28. It means D has been rejected by New York 1 choice, is it right?
@WorkingGirl If someone chooses to be considered for other campuses, they most likely just take this into consideration, not the NYC campus. This is what I read in the ED thread.

@WorkingGirl different campuses = different A.O… no relation between Shanghai/NYU… think of it as Yale and Yale NUS
@WorkingGirl I am exactly in the same situation! I applied to NYU Stern as my primary choice but I got invitation for NYUSH (my alternate) for ASW in April, so I am concerned that this is a hint for me that I got rejected from my primary choice.
Is it possible to get in both your primary and secondary choice of NYU? 
@Panda_juice No, you can only get in your first or second choice, not both.
Just got denied from BU today. Hopefully the trend doesnt continue with NYU 
If I can’t get into BU idk how I’m supposed to get into NYU.
@kuhlm44937 I feel the same way. I got waitlisted from holy cross today and it makes me think I have no shot at NYU.
Is NYU as competitive as BU? I got accepted to BU, so im hoping I have the same luck at NYU
BU is much more competitive than NYU
Somehow I always though NYU was much more competitive than BU. Guess I should have had more realistic expectations/compared the two schools more.
I have a feeling my rejection from BU is the first in a long string of denials. I still have USC & Duke to hear from (there’s no way I’ll get in), and then NYU. Hopefully my college admissions results will end on a high note.
@kuhlm44937 honestly it depends which school you applied to at NYU, cuz the overall acceptance rate for NYU is like 33%, but Stern is closer to 13%. The theatre and film schools are also really hard to get into
@creampuff72 I applied to Stienhardt (MCC) & Journalism at BU. I’ve heard the com School is hard to get into at BU but who knows.
Can anyone else who applied confirm changes on their Nyu Albert account for speculation?

Wait, I haven’t gotten an invitation and have applied to both Shanghai and NYU in NY, with NY as my top choice. Also got rejected from BU, and was really thrown by that, and am now VERY nervous for NYU.
