I read that the acceptance rate for Steinhardt is 41%
@hopefulharry I did not apply to Tisch but I did get a housing change as well
what housing change?
where do we find the housing change
@hopefulharry I did apply to ticsh and I did not get a housing change
@newprofessor I hope it is! I read it was 35% but I don’t think anyone knows for sure
Mine says “non NYU student” does that mean anything
Does anyone know what the Silver acceptance rate is? Anyone else apply there?
I have a really particular situation and will this affect my admission chance? I was so interested in NYU so I was originally an ED applicant. But in mid December (yeah about 10 days before the decisions are released) I discovered that my Financial Aid document was missing, meaning that I don’t get any aid when they admitted me, so I emailed them and changed my status to RD 2022. Would that indicate a lack of interest to them? I am still very interested in NYU and will attend if I get in.
I have a 1420 SAT, 3.5 UW GPA, a lot of JV sport, work experience, leadership and volunteering hours. 10 APs throughout 4 years. 3 SAT 2 with 760 on Math 2, 740 on Chemistry, 700 on Physics and I got mostly 4s and 5s on my AP tests. My NYU essay is very good—at least my teacher and I both love it.
Do I have a shot at least? I was rejected almost everywhere including BC, BU, NEU, Emory and Pepperdine, but I got into UCSB with a decent amount of money. I really hope I could get in. New York is amazing.
@JaqueBear honestly, you may still have a chance. If you changed your decision 10 days before decisions, there’s a good chance that they had already made their decision, so they either kept it the same, or decided to evaluate you based on the RD applicant pool.
@helpasap123 mine said non-NYU student even a few days after I was admitted. Only after I submitted my tuition and housing deposits did it change, so I don’t think you should worry about it!
@musicandscience while NYU boasts about having a record 75,000 applications, keep in mind that this includes all NYU schools. So that’s Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, and the New York campus all included. Still a lot tho, so it’s impressive.
@introtoxx I never got the housing change until weeks after I was admitted. It’s all bs if you ask me. I didn’t get any changes at all.
@nyudream2221 I was admitted during ED1 and I still have the “nothing to see here (yet!)” on my profile. I have no idea when it will change.
@Lemonade22 of all the conspiracy theories I e heard, the promotional email one is the most ridiculous one that I’ve heard lmao. Doubt that it’s even close to being true.
@YoungOne4 my status said “non-renewable undergraduate” for weeks even after I was admitted. It only changed to “nyc freshman” in late January. So if you don’t get a change then don’t stress to much
When you open the letter, if the first words are “on behalf” then you’re admitted. If it says “the admissions”, then you’re either rejected or waitlisted.
It’s best to not check for changes during the day of decisions. All it does is create more stress. Since the beginning of the process people kept talking about “changes” and all it did was stress me out and lead me to calling NYU over 5 times a day while their reps kept trying to calm me down lol. If you’re in, then you’ll know when NYU sends out the emails.
I can also see the summer 2018 housing application on mine, only difference is that I also have the housing application for 2018-2019 school year.
hey everyone! i have a question which might be very stupid but oh well
do admitted students receive their decision via nyu portal or do the nyu mail it, like usc??
