NYU 2022

@thatdariakid Portal I think

@thatdariakid last year they did the decisions in waves, and each wave would get an email with a link to click on and view their decision. A lot of people didn’t wait for the email tho and just went ahead and checked their portal

It’ll be on the portal, but they’ll email us telling us when it’s available to view on the portal. I just called admissions to ask if I got accepted into my specific major (I’m an MLK Scholar so I already know
I was accepted in general), and she said that she couldn’t tell me. BUT she told me I could find out when the decisions come out, which she said would be next Friday at the latest! So one more week y’all!

If last year is a guide, decisions were released in the Albert portal at 12:00 pm PDT/3:00 pm EDT on March 30. Apparently, you will see a “Decision” tab to click on. It doesn’t look like anyone waited for an email.

Wishing everyone good luck. We are (thankfully) almost at the conclusion of this application season, and you are all winners to me.

Hey, I have submitted a CSS noncustodial profile waiver by the deadline (Feb 20?) and I still don’t know if it was accepted or rejected, on my profile it says “requested” but I got an email confirming they have received it, just no further informations… Should I worry? Could it be an indication that I am not accepted so they don’t bother with all this thing concerning FA? :frowning:

Does anyone know if we will recieve scholarship and financial aid money right when we get our decision? Or will we have to wait another week for them to mail us that information?

@leanne07 don’t worry! This is not an indication of your admission decision. As long as you got an email saying they received your CSS you are good. The portal can take time to update, but if you want to double check they received your CSS, just call the admissions office and they can double check for you

@cocoahoneyy you will receive your decision and financial aid on the same day if you are accepted. In your acceptance letter you will see instructions on how to access your financial aid (scholarships, loans etc.)

i’ve been inactive on this thread, sorry if previously mentioned but is there an update on results hour/date?

@BrKmNk decisions should hopefully be sometime next week, we think Thursday! Simone called the admissions office and they said the latest decisions would be out would be Friday

Anyone know what the different types of scholarships are?
I know there’s an MLk one but are there any other major ones? Or is NYU good with just giving scholarship money? I have a full ride at another good school so getting some money here would really be nice.

hey everyone! can anyone explain what date and time can i expect to see online decision? someone mentioned that last year they were released in waves, is so someone place give me a time line or something lol
thanks in advance <3

@collegecrazy2017 I know there is there is the deans scholarship but I believe those have already been rewarded. Besides that, there are no set scholarships. It just depends on your need and merit, and I’ve seen people receive $1,000 scholarships but also $46,000 scholarships. The chance of getting a full ride is very rare, but you can get some money

@thatdariakid last year the first wave was released at 3 PM EST. So probably that’s when the first one will be if they do waves, and I’m not sure when the next waves were released but probably within an hour of each other. Hope that helps!

First Good Luck to everyone. With over 75,000 applications this year, NYU’s overall acceptance rate is now around 24%.

Stern is still the toughest with an acceptance rate under 10%. Ranked according to hardest to get into:
Stern < Tisch< CAS/Gallatin < Steinhardt < GSP < SCPS. Getting into any of these programs on the NYC campus is prestigious and the opportunity of a lifetime.

Tisch and Steinhardt has accepted the world’s most talented group of young actors, writers and musicians every year. I have been bless to watch their performances every year growing up.

Just an FYI, NYU will only give you one acceptance notice.

If you applied to the NYC campus to Tisch then Gallatin, your application will be reviewed by Tisch first.

If it is not accepted into Tisch then Gallatin gets your application. If you get an acceptance letter from Gallatin, one congratulations for making into NYU and its NYC campus. It also means you were not accepted into your first choice major at Tisch.

If you get an acceptance to NYU Shanghai or Abu Dhabi, again congratulations on getting into NYU. It does however also mean you were not accepted into either program on the NYC campus.

Good luck everyone!

Did many people get invited to that Shanghai admitted students day? I applied to that as my second choice but I am nervous that maybe I didn’t get in to either program

Just checked my Son’s status at the Albert portal and they are saying that his high school transcripts are still outstanding. Very surprising and shocking at this eleventh hour. They were all sent through the commonapp. I just can’t believe this.

@collegecrazy2017 cnc4599 is right, NYU rarely gives full rides. My friend who attends the school said that they don’t believe in just handing money to students. They like to see students work hard to earn money. So, they’re more likely to give you a work study position than just hand you a scholarship. In my case, they gave me full tuition. My financial aid award simply said ‘CAS scholarship’ so I’m not sure how much of it was merit based and how much was need based. I had a 3.9 unweighted gpa, 4.8 weighted gpa, took 12 AP classes, lots of ECs, great essays, and low SAT (1270). But I am also a minority, and my EFC was $3665, plus I applied ED1, so I honestly have no idea how they decide who gets what. Someone who had similar stats to me and the same EFC only got 20k. I guess part of it is just how badly they want you to attend their school.

@WaitingforGodot4 So this is the first time I have heard of Tisch applicants being sent to Gallatin. Does this happen even if the applicant did not specific interest in Gallatin?

@work64 hi. No Tisch applicants are not automatically referred to Gallatin. Your application would go only to the options you selected.
