NYU Abu Dhabi Engineering

My son has the great fortune of being admitted toward NYU Abu Dhabi. He is planning in studying engineering (either mechanical or chemical). I have been trying to help him decide where to go for college, and he has asked for my personal opinion. However, there is very little information of NYUAD’s engineering program outside of their homepage. And although it looks great, i don’t feel it is entirely objective.

I would love to get more information about how NYUAD’s engineering program ranks and compares to other colleges. If my son were to study anything in liberal arts he would surely decide to go in a heartbeat, but engineering in a liberal arts school and a core curriculum is a little trickier. We are a little skeptical of whether NYUAD’s engineering is as great as the university itself.

Any information would be extremely helpful! Thank you!

There really isn’t much information on NYUAD or NYUSH simply because the schools are too young, so school rankings, job placement etc. is difficult to determine. It’s definitely a unique experience, though.

NYU New York City has a good engineering program. However, NYU AD is very good too.

@intlnyu How do you think it compares to more traditional engineering programs from schools such as UT Austin, Purdue, Texas A&M and University of Illinois? And which one has the engineering edge, NYU or NYUAD?
