nyu, barnard, gwu...

How competitive is transfer admission to the following schools?

NYU
Barnard
GWU
BU
Northwestern
Vassar

Also, can anyone tell me about the pros and cons of applying for spring semester (I'm currently a sophomore). Is it generally easier to get in for second semester? Harder? The same?

I'd really appreciate ANY advice!

NYU, Vassar, Northwestern, and Barnard have highly competitive transfer admissions.

At GWU & BU, transfer admissions is competitive.

As for spring admits, it depends on the college or university.

nyu isn't that competitive for transfer admissions, not like northwestern is

NYU is not as competitive for transfers, but it is a bit more so than either GWU or BU.

NYU - 31%
Vassar - 20%
Northwestern - 17%
Barnard - ?
BU - 32%
GWU - ?

Vassar and Northwestern are the most competitive of those schools...a lot of people with good stats were rejected from NU last time, while NYU/Barnard/BU/GWU are not so hard to get accepted into, but still competitive.

Brand:

Is that for transfer admissions from 2005? And the stats from NYU are higher than GW or BU, right?

Barnard: 32%

Its from Collegeboard.com and yes it is transfer stats...likely for 2005. I'm not sure when they last updated. NYU is typically more competitive than GW or BU although they may have similar acceptance rates.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the info.
