<p>EC: Math League, Science Club, National Honors Society, Baseball (1 year), Tennis (1 year), Academic Bowl, Science National Honors Society, currently interning for University of Maryland</p>

<p>Have taken 6 AP courses, taking 4 more this year, including advanced math classes (Linear Algebra and Analytical Geometry). <strong>AP Scholar with Distinction</strong></p>

<p>My GPA is kind of low, but what do you think my chances are with everything else, and a solid essay.</p>

well- you have very solid sats and sat 2s. although your ECs look okay, you seem to lack ‘leadership positions’ and that is what universities look for in an applicant.
with a very good essay you might have a 50% chance at NYU though it depends on which college/school you’re appliying to. for example, if you apply to Stern (business) you are likely to be rejected. but at global liberal studies and CAS you have a better shot at getting in.
boston and penn state are safeties for you but carnegie mellon is a high reach.</p>

<p>thanks a lot, I am an officer in SNHS (Vice President), though, so atleast i have a little leadership. i’m just hoping my slacking (hence the low GPA) doesn’t destroy my entire app.</p>
