I’m just wanted to know what chances I had of getting into the BPE program at NYU.
Unweighted GPA- 3.86 ( I was part of the Cambridge program at my high school and also have the diploma)
Weighted- 4.98 ( Dual Enrollment helped boost my GPA)
SAT Composite score-2050
ACT- 30
Extracurricular Activities-
260 hours of community service
Sophomore Class Secretary, Junior Class President, Senior Council Secretary
NHS 10-12th grade 11th grade treasurer and 12th grade secretary
Key Club member from 10th-12th
Environmental Club 10th- 12th
If you’re still taking responses, I got in with a worse GPA, mediocre ECs, and unenthusiastic-ish essays (I really didn’t want to go to business school). My SAT was really high though and I’m extremely interested in international stuff, so that probably made up for it.
Is this for stern, or NYU in general? I heard somewhere that there are only like 50 spots for BPE at NYU. Pretty hard to get into then, and Im assuming your stats do have to be very good.
Hey! I’m actually currently enrolled in BPE at Stern and I just wanted to give you some of my stats to compare:
SAT (superscore) - 2070
IB (predicted) - 39 (without EE and TOK) although I ended the program with lower score lol (subjects were chem physics and math HL and then russian , eng lang and lit and economics SL)
I did MUN for 3 years and went to 2 conferences (one in Istanbul and one in Cairo)
Was part of various student councils all 4 years, I ran Middle School MUN and an environmental club and did some other smaller things too.
I think my common app essay was pretty good and my NYU specific essay was okayish but I did really explain why I wanted to do BPE and why the program was the perfect fit for me.
Your stats look pretty good so you do have a solid chance, I would just say focus on the essays and show that you are passionate about the program. (Also I didn’t ask for money so I don’t know how much that factored into my admission but just throwing it out there). And if you want more information about the program feel free to ask me whatever you’d like
