NYU is my top choice for Undergrad. I’m a rising senior and I really hope that I can get in, hopefully with financial aid as I’m not sure I’ll be able to pay tuition.
For that reason I’m not ED’ing NYU. This might affect my chances.
I’m applying to CAS because I’ve heard the program is a lot more flexible. But I’ll be blunt; I’m not sure about my stats.
State: Texas
Indian American
Major: CS(want to focus on game development)
GPA: 4.1 on a 5.0 scale, I’m ranked around the top 20%.
I had a rough Sophomore year and did poorly initially. In Junior Year, I picked up the pace and rose from 30% to 20%.
SAT: 1500, 1530 w/ Superscore.
APs: 3s in HGAP, EHAP, and Art Hist, 4s in World hist and CS, 5s in US Hist, Eng Lang.
Essay: Complete.
Rec Letters/Counselor: IN progress.
ECs:
President of my Toastmasters chapter[I created a lot of programs plus a new type of debate to increase enrollment and group participation]
Band Leader for my Bengali Association[We perform Bollywood music, but idk about bookings xd]
Founder of the soon-to-be FL(EDM) club at my school[as soon as the approval comes in]
National Honors Society[Volunteer]
Piano for 13 years[Honestly been running longest]
CS Club
Speech and Debate for 3 years[stopped after the end of junior]

Hooks/Hobbies:
EDM Producer: Make my own EDM, started production in 2016 and has been growing on Soundcloud
Youtube: Uploaded audio visualizers, recently started making my own music videos
Graphic Design: Designed graphics for both professional and recreational use
I had an internship over the summer for an auditor(if that helps), and for a short time I made avatars on request(I might still have the form if anyone wants them :P)
That being said, given my ECs and hobbies CS does seem like a weird major to apply to, but some of my writings explain my ECs and how they tie towards my specified major. Because of a previous incident however, I won’t be sharing them. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I know it’s a long shot given my academics, but if I don’t even try, then I’ll never know. Please be brutally honest
