Can I get into NYU CAS (for 2019 as freshman)

Hi, NYU CAS is my dream school and I want to go to NYU so bad ( I want to do pre- med.) and I’m a junior at a competitive public school. Here are my stats:

  • 4.06 GPA and 3.93 unweighted ( should go up with junior year gpa)
  • 29 on act.. I got the same composite twice ( I REALLY WANT THIS TO GO UP.. my goal is a 32 or 33), however, I recently took a practice test at my tutoring center and got English: 36, Math: 30, Reading: 27, Science: 33 so a 32 composite score ^i just get really nervous on test day from parent pressure and personal pressure to do good so I bomb it... and timing is terrible
  • class ranking is 32/503
  • my essay is pretty good bc we wrote them in class in AP Lang.
  • I will have taken 10 APs by the end of my senior year( US History, Bio, Econ, Calc AB, Lang, Psych, Music Theory, Enviornmental, Stats, Chem)
  • extracurriculors:
  • Chamber violist ( been playing since fourth grade)
  • Started a K-Pop club at my school -Shadow at nearby hospital's E.R. ( started grade 10)
  • Taekwondo(since eighth grade)
  • Peer Tutoring Club( all through high school)
  • Global Scholars Honors Diploma Program( I'm doing a service project)
  • HOSA
  • Science Olympiad varsity team (since grade 10)
  • Model UN
  • NHS -will be attending medical camp at Harvard Med School this summer
  • play ukulele
  • Volunteered at COSI ( until grade 11).. COSI is a nearby science museum if you aren't familiar with it Also I don't know if this matters but I am Indian...

So do I have any chance of getting in? Also, any tips?

did u get the FA Change?

@adeedidya29369 OP is a junior, he or she hasn’t applied yet.
Your GPA and AP amount is good for CAS IMO. Have you tried to take the SAT instead of the ACT? I took the ACT a whopping four times and got a 32 each time, and with the SAT I was able to get a decentish score on my first try. Also, try to take some SAT subject tests this year, in math or biology since you want to be premed.

I have. I do better on the act though. And I am planning to take the math 1 and biology subject tests. However I took bio last year so will it be too much to study for?

So I wondering what is a decent act score for the CAS in this school?

Also, I thought I did not need to take subject tests to apply to NYU… that’s partially why I haven’t focused much on them yet.

You don’t NEED subject tests, but if you do well they can help your application. I took the Bio M test right after I took AP Bio and I did pretty well. If you’re worried about studying later take it soon (January maybe?) just not in May because you’ll already have AP tests.
NYU doesn’t release admissions stats for its specific colleges, but I would assume that since CAS is so big a lot of NYU’s general stats will be reflected in CAS. I’m that case, 30 is average, 28 is 75% and 32 is 25%, so shoot for that 32+ to stand out

What is a good sat score? I just got a 1350 on PSAT so would it be reflective of the score score I would get in the sat?

Thanks
