For those who managed to transfer internally either sophomore or junior year, can you please post your stats? (GPA, classes you took)

You cannot transfer from LSP to Stern as far as I am aware. If it is even a possibility, you would only be able to apply to start at Stern in your junior year, but I’ve never known anyone to actually get accepted for an LSP to Stern transfer. Just an FYI

The above statement is incorrect. My son just completed his freshman year in LSP and is planning to apply for Stern admission as a junior. While rare, there have been several students in the past few years that have admitted to Stern from the LSP program. If you doubt this, I suggest you contact the LSP advisement office. My son specifically applied to the LSP and has had a fantastic first year experience. If he can maintain his grades (3.93) and perform well in specific prerequisites sophomore year, he’s been told by Stern that he has a legitimate shot at admission. I’m not sure how much high school performance comes into consideration for an internal transfer, but his stats were reasonably within standards for direct Stern admission as a freshman. (SAT 2200, GPA 3.85 UW, 4.4 W)

@Kenosis, I am a former NYU student who knows many very qualified students who tried to transfer from LSP to Stern, and none were accepted. So as I said, even if they do technically allow applications (which they do not for entrance as a sophomore, which the OP asked about), the chances are very slim. OP, be sure that you will still be happy at NYU without Stern. It doesn’t hurt to try, but transferring into Stern (even internal) is significantly more difficult than getting in as a freshman, and you can’t count on it
