@bekisstressed I looked at other threads including years before but there were no mention of housing options like ours, with all three of them available.
Maybe the admission officers didn’t even get a chance to review our application yet?

I know it’s probably little too early for NYU admission to hint us for RD round, but man do I wish this is a clue to our admission. I’d love to attend NYU!!
@mdlego Me too! NYU is my top choice along with Barnard, but yeah, I think it’s still too early for the admission office to make changes to our applications. We’re going to have to wait for a few more weeks.
I don’t remember when I got the housing change, but I know it was before decision day was even near (maybe beginning/mid March?). As stated before, I didn’t receive the FA change until noon on March 27th; acceptances came out at 3PM that day. Your class is the first class that NYU isn’t doing the email waves for.
@seeniebeenie when you say housing change, do you mean when it changed to freshman, or portal looking like ours?
By the way, any of you guys know why I can’t seem to find any other people from 2020 Ed and older Ed/rd threads with 3 different options for our housing?

@seeniebeenie Wait, what do you mean by our class won’t have email waves? Do you mean that all acceptances/waitlists/rejections will be sent at once?
@mdlego The portal is the default for everyone. When people say housing change, they mean when it changed to freshman. The three different options are always there.
@scholar861 NYU is no longer sending out emails. You will check Albert at 5pm on April 1st to see your decision.
@seeniebeenie Ohhh I see. So we won’t be able to see the decision earlier though because I know in previous years, people got their decisions a week earlier in Albert.
@seeniebeenie thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. But when I look at other threads and see pictures of other people’s housing portals, they all have only fall one open. Few indicated spring and fall, but never with all three: spring, summer, and fall.
If you go on page 3, someone posted a picture of their housing portal. And few others replied back to him/her saying that’s how it looks from their end too. (Only fall one open)

The housing page changed again, only personal info left, no terms there anymore. Hmmm
@mdlego Mine changed. Yesterday it was just personal information on the left and now I have the three option everyone is talking about.
This is what I found out about the portal:
NYU Housing manages a complex matrix of accommodations across 13 campuses world wide including NYU main campus in NYC, portal campuses in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi, and Study Away locations in places like Washington D.C., Sydney, Buenos Aires, Paris, London and Accra. Each location offers different housing options such as home stays, apartment style housing, traditional housing, NYU owned housing, and leased housing.
Stay durations, room types, room rates, and lifestyle preferences all vary by location.
The landing page is a single point of entry for ALL students interested in housing. It classifies students and identifies location and type of housing available based on admissions, biodemo, enrollment, and booking history. It simplifies the assignment process and delivers options to students in a clean, user friendly platform.
When a student visits the landing page, he/she will see a personalized portal with images and links to the application processes customized to his/her experience at NYU.

@cf9882 I wish I can tell you that is a good thing, but there is no confirmation if 3 options is better than 1 option
Well at least we now know for sure that 3 option isn’t the very beginning stage…
According to bestone and cf9882, I am guessing the admission stages goes from Terms to Personal Info to 3 options?? It would be nice if bestone could clarify what it was like before.
I just checked Albert and next to NYU Shanghai, “USD” is added. I am pretty sure USD was not there yesterday??
Oh and also, I just checked To Do List and I see that they received my 16-17 CSS Profile. I am pretty sure this page was also empty when I checked yesterday?
Damn, I am already getting anxious… lol
EDIT: actually thinking back, I am not so sure about the To Do List anymore… But I know for sure USD was just recently added.
What does the financial aid change look like?
There is no change in the financial aid. Still says award access not available.
The only thing I think might have changed is the My To Do List, but I am not too sure about that.
