@mdlego, nevermind, I overlooked, its the same, no changes.
For anyone interested, I was an ED2 applicant that got in. FA change no longer exists. Not sure if they fixed the housing change during our cycle, but if you your fall changes from NRU to Freshman, you got in. Everyone who had it ED2 got in. Some did get in without it though, but no one got denied who had it.
Does anyone know what NYU Shanghai “USD” could mean? I am pretty sure there was no USD before unless I am hallucinating.
I was browsing ED 2 thread and it looked like only @theniqqa23 and @wh0lockian had theirs changed.
Try searching “usd” on this NYU forum or on past NYU Discussion threads.
Are all of you guys able to start filling out the housing app when you click the green access button? (ie: you can get to the “personal details” page) I know one person here already mentioned they can. I can start filling it out too for spring and summer even though the access button is under fall.
@jenmejli Already did, two people I mentioned from ed2 thread were the only ones who talked about it.
And, yeah I can start filling out the housing app. Despite me having three options, (Spring, Summer, and Fall), I only have access to Spring and Summer housing apps.
@jenmejli When I clicked “access application” for Fall in NYC, the only terms it lets me choose is Spring 2016 and Summer 2016. Is this the same for you or no?
@mdlego Was it like this for you too?
yep, same
@cf9882 mine does the same thing for access application on all 3
@scholar861 Yeah, NYU’s always had the decision day being April 1st, but that’s always been an flexible deadline. The admissions office would race to get the decisions finalized and be finished a few days early, so decisions would be released once everything was finalized. Decisions were available in Albert (for me) about a half hour after 3PM on March 27th (decisions day last year), and my email came through around 4PM.
@mdlego You’re right, forgive me. Now that you mention it, I do recall my housing portal only having one term available at some point in time, but I think at some time it also changed to having three open? Or maybe not, I honestly can’t remember. But I do know that I had the “Freshman” change and was able to access the application and begin filling it out.
PSA to everyone: don’t submit your housing app yet. Feel free to start filling it out if you can, but don’t submit it until you’ve accepted your offer of admission.
How are you guys finding housing? I don’t even see a housing tab on my Albert portal.
@penn1248 go to housing.nyu.edu/apply and login with your nyuID
@bekisstressed Thanks!
.

Do any of you know when Scholar’s Weekend invites usually come out? And the kind of stats an applicant needs to have to get invited?
I applied to tisch for the film and television program and I would like to concentrate in animation. Good luck to everyone who applied to NYU!
Does anyone else currently have a blank housing page? No spring/summer/fall…just personal info on the left?
@milesj1003 No for me it has all the seasons and non-renewable freshman.
@milesj1003 I have all three terms
Hey guys, chance me?
Objective:
Applying to CAS
[ *] SAT I (breakdown): 1970 (660 math 660 writing 650 reading)
[ *] ACT: 29 (30 english 30 reading 28 science 27 math) but waiting on the December scores…
[ *] SAT II: 730 math I, 620 math II
[ *] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.3 (trash… but straight 3.5-3.7 since last semester sophomore year. Freshmen year killed my gpa…hoping the strong upward trend helps.)
4.0 GPA from a community college where I got a math credit from
[ *] Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Doesn’t rank
[ *] Senior Year Course Load: Two science courses and an honors math, along with regular classes (for first semester)
[ *] Major Awards: No major awards… but honor roll, athlete scholar, varsity letter
Subjective:
[ *] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Hoping this makes up for poor GPA
[ *] Job/Work Experience: No paid jobs
[ *] Volunteer/Community service:
Research/computer work for head of otolaryngology department at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital. Chose me to lead patient data management project, and he wrote me probably my best recommendation. My essays all revolve around this work. Probably among the most important parts of my app
Volunteered at a food pantry for a long time
Sports (4) varsity and JV
Science olympiad
Piano
Debate
Student gov
Get tutored in Arabic/Turkish, proficient (also fluent in Farsi)
[ *] Essays: Pretty damn good essays, hired a past Dartmouth admission counselor current Dartmouth Med student to help write them.
[ *] Teacher Recommendation: 9/10 (one of them pretty much asked me to write a rec for me)
[ *] Counselor Rec: She said she emphasized my “diversity”… I’d probably say 7-8/10
[ *] Additional Rec: 10/10 from the head of otolaryngology at the hospital. Obviously haven’t read it, but I’m sure it’s really good
[ *] Intended Major: Biology, Pre-med
[ *] State (if domestic applicant): NH
[ *] School Type: Prestigious public (#1 public in NH)
[ *] Ethnicity: Middle Eastern
[ *] Gender: Male
[ *]Legacy: Harvard University, Dartmouth College
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM (if Middle Eastern counts…), proficient in several languages and fluent in Farsi. Dunno what else.
