NYU, CUNY, SUNY chances

Some of the schools I’m applying to have very low admission rates, so it’s pretty unrealistic to expect to get in. Some of the more safety/reach schools seem to be good for chance threads. Please chance and give advice

Suny: Binghamton, Buffalo, stony brook, Albany
Cuny: Hunter, Baruch, Queens, Lehman
My biggest reach: NYU

GPA unweighted: 3.7
Freshman year: 3.3
Art 72/75
Gym 73/70
English 79/91
Math 87/99
Science99/100
History 87/89
College advisory 80/88

Sophomore year: 3.7
Art 76/80
Gym 85/90
English H 93/91
Math 96/95
Science 95/95
History 94/98

Junior year: 4.0
Gym 91/90
Ap English 93/97
Math 99/99
Ap science 86/98
Ap history 96/99
Foreign language 90/95
Science elective 95/95

Senior year will have 2-3 ap’s (as many as possible) with grades similar to junior year.

SAT:
April test 650 math 600 rw
June test: 740 math 670 rw

Regents:
Math: 92,67,87
English 92
History 98,99
Science 90,77

This seems to be above or average for these schools, but considering a retake + essay for other schools.

EC (weak): School club, cooking, writing

As far as I know, gym isn’t counted in the GPA in NYS. If it was, I would never have graduated as highly ranked in my class as I did.

Your gpa and scores seem fine for all of the CUNY’s and Albany. I would check on the suny.edu site, which gives the ranges for all of the schools. CUNY may have something similar. If you go to CUNY, where would you live? You have to think about the commute. Queens has a dorm but I think the others only have housing for Macaulay, grad and/or international students, though I would confirm this. I attended CUNY back in the day when the only dorms were for nursing students at Hunter.

Thanks for the info, I will look into housing as well. Unfortunately, my school does count gym on my transcript, if it didn’t, my GPA would be a solid 90.

You should be fine for Buffalo. You can look up the common data set to find out about Stoneybrook and Binghamton.
