NYU Dual Engineering Program

Is the NYU dual engineering major program any good? Also, what kind of scores/grades/percentiles/etc. do you need to be accepted?

[Dual Degree Program in Engineering (with the Polytechnic Institute of NYU), CAS | NYU](http://cas.nyu.edu/object/engineering.1113.ug.info) describes it… looks like a 3+2 program with NYU proper as the “3” school and PINYU as the “2” school.

Unless you are really itching to do one of the listed double major combinations and are willing to take an extra year to do so (note extra cost), there does not seem to be any point to doing it compared to just doing your desired engineering major at PINYU or some other school.

Note that PINYU will eventually become just the engineering division of NYU.

Some other 3+2 programs allow greater choice of major at the “3” school.

It’s a typical 3/2 engineering program, similar to what some LAC’s offer.
