NYU Early Decision 1 Class of 2022!

What counts as a legacy

It is not only about your GPA. they take everything into account and make decisions off of that. If you have good extra curriculars and have grown as a student throughout the past 4 years, you’re fine. They want to see growth and diversity. So stop saying if you don’t have a 4.1 you won’t get in because that is false.

I’m so so so scared. I have never been religious but im praying so hard now

Does anyone know any good alternatives to NYU in NYC? I got a full ride to pace but I feel like its not a quality education idk

Legacy is when a parent went to a university and their kid is applying there too, making the kid a legacy.

Has anyone got the housing change?

Barnard, Columbia, Fordham, and New School are probably most recognized here in NYC (excluding NYU). However, Pace is also a good school and has a lot of advantages, as it is also in the city and has access to internships. With a full ride, I would seriously consider it!!! @strangertingz

@strangertingz Fordham’s Manhattan campus and the New School are great alternatives in Manhattan. Downside to Fordham, though, is that its campus is pretty small, unlike NYU’s. The New School is a Liberal Arts College, I think, if that matters.

Boston University is great, too. It’s in a city like NYC, a big campus, diverse and prestigious too.

Does the FA change have any significance?

No. There have been people who got the change and were rejected and people who did not get the change but were accepted. @Laralirin

I called NYU office about the FA change. Again, they insist don’t sweat about it.

What about the housing change, has anyone’s housing status changed?

last year, housing changes didn’t change until as closes as hours and minutes (iirc mine was like 10 minutes) before decisions are released. please don’t worry about it.

again, i wish you all the best of luck with decisions (and exams, if you guys have any coming up)

I think if I don’t get into NYU I’m going to apply to Columbia (flawed logic, I know, but I really want to live in Manhattan, and you never know.) I also got into Pitt, Penn State, and Alabama (with 19K scholarship) so what I’m trying to keep in mind is that no matter what, I will be going to an awesome school next year and this should be an exciting time for me. It’s NYU’s loss if I’m not admitted. My Honors Zoology teacher keeps telling me “you’ll grow where you’re planted,” and no matter what I think that my college experience is going to be amazing these next four years. Maybe I’ll feel differently when I actually get my rejection letter lmao. Friday can’t come soon enough!
Also, I have the FA change and I choose to believe that it means something (I need some type of hope!). I don’t have an address for housing portal but I do have my nyu email. That’s what everyone has right?

@strangertingz did you apply directly to LS last year? I heard they look for applicants string in English/writing and community service.

What does LSP stand for? Everyone keeps mentioning it but I can’t for the life of me figure out what it stands for.

@hjledford Liberal studies program. It’s a two year core curriculum program at NYU. After the two years students are allowed to transfer to the other NYU schools.

Did anyones housing app change? Not “the change” but it takes me to the other housing portal now

what do you see? @hopefullytisch

Can they please just post the decisions now? I know that they know them all by now… what’s the harm in releasing them two days early?
