Don’t be embarrassed!! There is so much beyond a standardized test score. I have a 1350 SAT, and that impressed Cornell. A 1000 is the national average, and the value you get over that demonstrates your ‘above-average’ intellect. You’re very smart, and NYU is approaching the ‘ivy’ tier.
The NYU costs are quite insane. I’d say wait for RD.
Your son looks like he on track for NYU. He demonstrates a lot of interest. Make sure the essays reflect your son’s desire to attend. Good luck!!

How much does ED2 boost your chances of getting in? Unsure if I should ed2
@rgtech - You have an excellent chance. You have decent stats and excellent ECs. Be sure to write a good essay. Best of luck!
Hello! I was recently deferred from Wharton (UPenn) ED. I have a sat 1450 and Math 2 720 (Ik they are on the lower end of the spectrum) but I think my ECs are very strong. I want to know whether I should apply ED2 to Stern or RD. They have already taken one kid from my school during ED1 for CAS. Any advice?
Are you applying to stern ?
I had a query while completing the app. Are we guaranteed to get the major that we choose in common app, or do we have to declare the major again in Sophomore year? Or do we declare major later only if we apply as “Undecided”? Basically, I’m wondering if there is a min GPA requirement or anything else in Sophomore year that might cause someone not to get a certain major even though we chose it in the common app
Hi. Im applying to NYU Stern ED2

@BrielleNJ I’m thinking of changing my already submitted RD app to ED too… How did you do it? Did you call the admissions office or what?
I just applied ED2 for Meyers!
@dreamingnyc sorry to be responding so late, especially since today is the deadline to change. I went through Common App, then admissions emailed me to confirm the change, and then they actually emailed my guidance counselor And cc’ed me, to make sure she knew about the change, and to remind us that it was binding!
Applying ED2 to CAS French! I’m nervous but optimistic… Feb. 15th seems so far away haha
Hey guys! I got in a month ago thanks to ED1. While I’m not an expert, I think I have a pretty good understanding of NYU’s admissions process. If you have any questions, just let me know.
do I have a chance for NYU?

@ploppy123
Your stats are a lot better than mine lol. What school did you apply to? That can change a lot of things. Also, NYU takes in a lot for consideration, including geography, so if a lot of people in you’re area applied, that lowers your chances a little bit. I noticed that NYU especially looks at your essays and your letters of recommendation, but if those are stellar, I think you have a really good chance.
