********NYU ED Class of 2021 Discussion**********

@marchingahead I can log in but then it says the email is invalid

@chessmstr Fall meal plans end at 4pm on the 23rd. Spring meal plans don’t start until 4pm on the Sunday before Spring classes start. I don’t know what your son is talking about.

Applied to NYU CAS

I can’t login to NYU Email

I can login to NYU Classes and my Housing portal says a @nyu.edu email.

This is pathetic, everyone just wait until Thursday. These email changes and portal glitches don’t mean anything, and you’re semi-delusional if you think they do. You all are just stressing each other out, so chill.

hey how about instead of talking about glitches and stats, let’s talk about how cool it would be if we got accepted! or like meal plans or anything other than these stupid glitches because it only brings anxiety to people and i’d rather have these last four days filled with good memories than OCD and absurd behavior

@AliFalcon lmao that was great

@sofialicir @beng21 Thank you for agreeing that all of this is bullshit. I also applied ED to NYU CAS and it makes me kind of sad that if I get in, these are the type of people that I am going to spend the next four years with.

@AliFalcon Although I could understand your frustration to a certain extent, you gotta realize that everyone on here is very anxious about their decision! It’s unfair to dog on them like this. They’re just really enthusiastic

(delete)

@gsbhutta I’m in the same boat, lmao. I just think this whole thing is comical.

according to last year, the only real indicator would be the housing change very close to the release time, but even that may not be happening this year as the housing portal looks different

Also, my anxiety is through the roof right now (AHHHHHHHH!!!). I haven’t done a chance me yet, so why not now as I’m stressed out beyond belief?

Intended Major: Political Science in the College of Arts and Science
Region: Virginia
GPA: 95/100. Taking the hardest classes that my school offers. Also going to a Governor’s school… Hopefully that helps. All 3 people who applied from my school last year RD got accepted.
SAT: 1260. Meh, not the best, but definitely not the worst. I think my leadership/extracurriculars, essays. and recommendations will overshadow this.
Essays: In my common app essay, I chose the failure prompt. Talked about my internship, and how I learned from my failures while doing Voter Registration on the streets of Petersburg. Learned lots of great people skills, and have registered 250+ people to vote up to this day.
For my why NYU essay, I talked about being the first person in my family to grow up in the US, and why I thought NYU would be the perfect school for me.
Recs: 1 from my 11th grade Dual Enrollment English teacher. She attended Wesleyan.
1 from my 11-12th grade Dual Enrollment US History/Government teacher. He got his phD from UVA.

CHANCE ME!!!

Is anybody else not really stressed? I actually liked looking at the housing portal and classes portal because it was somewhat fun. I’ll wait a few more days until decisions come out but looking at anomalies that could possibly indicate admission is fairly entertaining.

@gsbhutta I’ve never chanced anyone before. I’m not entirely sure what it is either but your stats look good. So 8/10?

@gsbhutta Your EC’s are good, and if you are indeed taking that hardest classes at your school, your GPA is good too. The only thing that is going to hurt you is the SAT score. a 1260 puts you below the 25th percentile for NYU and it may not be high enough, but who knows. And your other sections (recs/EC) can’t exactly overshadow your score, however they can definitely help your application as a whole. ***and also try to create a separate thread for “chance me’s”

Hi, I don’t really use College Confidential. All I can think about everyday is how close its getting to the 15th. I just want to know already. NYU is really my dream school and it’s like some days I feel I’ll get rejected, other days I feel like I’ll get accepted. Ugh. I just want this to be over with, but I really hope I get in. Reading this forum has helped, my friends are probably sick of hearing me talk about NYU

Same

guys I got an interview from NYU weeks ago. Did anyone get the interview too?

i got an interview for the HEOP program

I’m applying for the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music (at Tisch) .
