@rvp1999 yeahp, as well as my profile page
@marchingahead where is the STUDENT tab that you see
lmao sorry for the caps, just wanted them to be pointed out @pleaseaccepted so when you login to Albert, instead of a single page, there will be a tab on the top that also allows you to enter the student page. You need to be logged in. If you can’t see it, then basically it’s not there (yet).
I also have both tabs (student and applicant) in Albert. When I click on the housing link in Albert called “NYU Housing Payments” it allows me to sign into the bursar office and view my account. Can everyone do that? I also appear to have some kind of account number (reference number) in the bursar system that is different from my NYU ID numbers
For reference I have not attended summer programs
@nyuhope17 did u attend summer program before?
@marchingahead did u attend summer program in nyu?
@bling0202 I edited to add I have not attended summer programs
I’m from NY and I haven’t seen the two tabs on my Albert. I got fa change on Monday btw.
I’m from NY and I see both tabs. Applied to Gallatin. Didn’t go to summer program. Also didnt get the FA change.
I believe that the student and applicant tabs are available for all applicants.
@bling0202 was accepted but didnt go!
What I am unsure about is that even if we have the payment tab atm, NYU still doesn’t know which dorm, suite or housing plan we will choose. NYU’s website doesn’t even have a section or info for Fall 2017 yet…so…
@rvp1999 ok here goes…
18 y/o white female going to a private school in Texas
last year 3 students were accepted, all seemed much less qualified than most of you on here so hoping the reader tends to favor my school
academics:
-4.1 W gpa, we don’t do UW but im guessing it would be 3.5~3.7 ish.
-we don’t rank at my hs, but i am in the first quintile/140
-never taken an on-level class during HS, always honors or AP (we have either/or, never both for the same area of study). This ends up being 8 AP’s and 9 Honors classes.
-AP Scores: 5 Spanish Language & Culture, 5 APUSH, 4 World History, 3 Spanish Literature & Culture
-courses this year: AP AB calc, AP psych, AP gov, AP english, spanish 6 honors, and masque (acting group)
-33 ACT (taken one time)
-2020 old SAT (taken last year 3x)
-I sent in SAT Subject Tests of a 710 on Spanish, 700 on world history, and 680 on US history.
-last year, I got a C- in precal honors and a c+ in physics honors. in my supplemental essay i explained how I’m going into a performing arts career and took these as enrichment and didn’t drop down due to a drive to improve in these areas. really hoping this doesn’t kill my app.
-as writing is my strongsuit, i’m really happy with my common app essay and Why NYU essays. i’m not going to rank them, but these i assume will help my app.
-recs: both teachers i got these from know me well and i have worked very hard in their classes, so i see them as positive
ec’s:
-all mostly acting/theatre related. lots of shows. also lots of writing shows, i am interested in playwriting or normal writing possibly as well. some backstage/tech and a good amount of state makeup. i won’t write all of them out haha
-part of masque (11-12), an elite acting group that is audition-only and writes/directs/acts in their own plays
-weekly volunteer at local SPCA the last 2 yrs
-during summer, worked as a docent at local holocaust museum (grandmother is a survivor)
-summer job hostessing at an upscale restaurant
-various summer acting programs
-did field hockey freshman year, haha
-classically trained in voice (9-11)
-beginning dance (foundational skills) (10)
-piano (elementary school-9)
awards:
-national honor society (11-12 - only years you can be in it)
-national spanish honor society (10-12)
-climb award (11) given in raising my precal grade
-best lead actress (10) for playing lavinia in shakespeare’s titus andronicus
audition felt like it went well. the instructor worked with me on my 2nd piece, which is a good sign typically. he also complimented me on my resume and really seemed happy when i spoke, so i am hoping it went well even though internally i was panicking during the interview from all the random questions! haha.
btw i applied tisch drama and noted CAS english studies as my 2nd choice on the common app, but i don’t think tisch typically considers you for your second choice. praying all goes well tomorrow!
extra: had FA change weeks ago, now back to “no access”. have nyu email in portals, etc. no “student” tab or anything, though.
Just wanted to check… has anyone who applied to CAS had the change? I’m from PA and don’t think I’ve had any changes…
Can anyone else access the bursar and see their account there? I see this:

@nyuhope17 whats the bursar
according to previous years: if applicants got fa change, then they are very likely to get accepted. But, if applicants didn’t get fa change, doesn’t mean they got rejected, they still have a good chance to get in.
Well apparently the bursar is only supposed to show if you’ve registered for a class. I’ve never registered for any of NYU classes, only applied to precollege. Maybe it’s a glitch or in waves ya know
@emmataylor04 It’s the office that bills you for tuition, housing, etc. I got to the link through Albert by clicking on the link “NYU Housing Payments”
@mattyvinxxx i applied to CAS and haven’t gotten any changes, same for a friend who applied to CAS
